It's an Irish name, so the letters have different sounds. It's quite popular in the North & the Republic.

Love that spelling of Caoimhe... What about Ann, May, Marie, Orlaith? x

Thanks ladies, we've sat for a few days going over them haha. Think we're gonna go for Caoimhe Mae, has a nice ring to it.
MrsAmk, yeah it's a very strange spelling I know, us Irish are a strange breed haha, we like to make things complicated Xx

I've loved the name Caoimhe for YEARS! But our family are from all over Europe and most of them just wouldn't get it

I was also going to suggest Caoimhe Mae; it rolls off the tongue nicely and sounds pretty. Have you looked at other Irish names to go with it too? Otherwise Caoimhe Rose is nice too, or Caoimhe Rae, Caoimhe Marie, Caoimhe Grace...

Yeah we looked at a lot of other Irish names, I really liked Grace but OH neice is called Grace. I also liked Roisin but then thought it might be a bit cruel to give her 2 unusual names. I agree that Caoimhe Mae just roles off the tongue Xx
