Need advise about my day 21 blood test

Ok so here's the score. I normally have a cycle that ranges from 30-36 days. Although these last few months its been 35-35.
So my doctor told me to give a blood sample on day 23 instead of day 21 because my cycles range from 30-36 days but the thing is im not sure when i ovulated as my temps were not as clear as they normally be. i think i ovulated on day 20 so does this mean i should give my blood sample on day 27 because they mite not get an accurate progesterone level if they test 3 days after i ovulate, or would they??? i dont want to miss it either, wot if i ovulated earlier than i thought?? o dear im so confused, please help me....

yeah when i did mine i was told roughly 7 days after you have ovulated is best time....my cycle was about 31/32 days & always got smiley face on opk on day 15/16 so always went for the bloodtest roughly on day 22/23...i was told not to panick if its a few days either side of correct day....anything above 30 indicates you have ovulated...good luck xx

i had this last month, not knowing exactly when i ovulated and being scared i'd not get an accurate reading if i got the timing wrong but like dancingkaty says as long as its done roughly 7 days from ovulation it should be fine... so if you think you ov'd on day 20 then i'd go for day 27
