Need charting experts!!

Hi- I am on my first cycle of clomid. I have never ovulated before in nearly 5 years of charting. I got my first ever positive OPK on CD13 and a bit of EWCM (which I never normally get)- I got ovulation pains 2 days later. My temps climbed for a day and have now dropped again the last two days. After todays temperature my charting software Ovusoft has raised my coverline so no temps are above it now.

But Fertility Friend still has the temps as above the coverline- but I am confused because it shows me as having ovulated on CD12. It has decided this because of the temps and is ignoring my OPK. But I can't have ovulated the day before the positive OPK and EWCM can I????

So do these charts mean I haven't actually ovulated??

Just from instinct, I would say that FF looks more likely. I don't like OPKs anyway because they never seem to give me accurate results. Good luck!

It is possible. I have never been able to rely on OPK's, but some women swear by them, so I would take that with a grain of salt until you have more months of patterns to look at. As for the EWCM, I don't really know, but your body does produce it other times during the month, so I would say it is possible. Also possible that you had some the day FF is saying you ovulated and just didn't notice or wiped it away. As you will find, there are no definites in TTC. I also agree with baby loulou that your FF chart looks to be right, but you will see even more of a pattern as the month goes on. Also possible that after a few more days FF will change your O date. It's been bouncing mine around by a week. Good luck, I really hope the clomid works for you. Are you getting any kind of blood test or anything to confirm ovulation occured?

Hi- thanks for your reply. Yes I am having the 21 day blood test (this Thursday). I guess I just have to keep taking my temps and see if it keeps dropping. Thanks again xx

I find that ewcm appears to be my most accurate indicator. Even when OPKs have been positive, I don't always find a temp rise straight after and when the have remained stubbornly negative, I often see a rise straight after. But ewcm seems to consistently happen just prior to a temp rise. Over time with charting you will get used to it (hopefully you won't need much time though!). Like Kaizh says, FF will often change ovulation dates when it's not really clear. I reckon you'll probably get a rise tomorrow. It's good that you are getting a test to confirm ovulation though.

Well my temp is back up again slightly today to 36.72!! I don't know what's going on- it's looking like a mountain range now! That suggests no ovulation doesn't it? If they are erratic?

I thought that clomid can also mess with your temps, and dont forget that opks might only detect high levels of lh, dunno if this makes sense but maybe your body is able to ovulate on a level that is just under what the opk tests.

I got a positive OPK Sonya- I just haven't really had the corresponding temps- although like I say it has crept up again this morning!

To me, 36.72 sounds high. I know everyone is different, but that's a high post ovulation temperature for me. I'm still pretty sure FF is right. In general your post-ov temps are higher than pre-ov. Perhaps is you had more pre-ov temps you would be more convinced, there are only 2 temperatures that are above the cover line and that could be due to so many things. I think your blood tests will confirm ovulation, don't stress. You got plenty of in around the right time, so you gave yourself the best chance.

Thanks everyone for your help on here! My temp was 36.84 this morning! So feeling happier now- FF has moved my OV day from CD12 to CD14 now- which has made me feel better because it corresponds with my positive OPK and slight EWCM!

Click on my ticker if you have a few minutes to look at my chart- does it look as if I did ovulate? I REALLY hope so....

Hi,

Im wondering if somebody can help. I have only just started BBT this month and I can't make any sense of it. Below is the link to my chart.

On the 13th & 14th (day 19 and 20) of Feb 2010 I had a +OPK and O pains. I normally O around day 17 but I was late this month. I am not charting my CM because me and my OH are bding from day 10 up until Ovulation (just incase I ovulate early or late) so its impossible to tell the different between CM and the discharge from bding (if you know what I mean).

I know its only a couple of days after O but I would like to understand what I am looking for in my chart for the next couple of days.

Can somebody answer my questions:

1) Can you tell me if my temperature keeps rising after today (day 24) does that mean that O did happen?

2) If my temperature stays the same (says at around 36.71 after day 24) what does that mean? Did I not O?

3) If my temperature drops after today does that mean I didn't O? Im so confused....

4) Does my chart look normal?
