need help in figuring out when ovulation takes place

Sorry if this is long but appreciate any advice- I currently do not have a regular cycle, as I mentioned in a previous post, I took Loestrin BC for several years where I did not get AF. My doc continued to tell me this was normal being on Loestrin. I finally went off BC in January and had no AF afterward. At first I figured my body just needed to get "rid" of the pill. But, in May when I still had no AF, I went to my doc. He put me on Provera to induce AF. AF came but was very light. In June I had no signs of AF coming again so my doc told me to take provera again for the next three months on days 15-25 of the month. AF came in June after taking the Provera and was bit more normal flow. DH and I want to start TTC this month and now I am unsure on how to really track my cycle as to when I'm supposed to ovulate... If i am counting the 1st day that AF came after taking the provera I should be on CD 14 today, however I do not have any EWCM and I'm not sure if that is what I should be relying on as a best ovulation indicator. I did order ovulation test strips but they have not arrived yet. Thanks again for any advice, suggestion, or help you can give!
