Okay so here it goes
I have a 3 year old daughter that will be four next month...I use to live in the same city/state as her father but about two weeks ago had to leave unexpectedly in fear of our saftey...long story...her dad and I have been split up ever since DD was born and we did have a custody agreement there that was he gets DD every other weekend and we split up holidays etc... well now that I am here I eventually called and let him know that DD and I were okay and that we need to work out a schedule to get her back and forth during the summer...(something I DO NOT want to do) but I know I have too...and he seemed to understand as he knows the reason I had to leave...however, I am very scared that he is up to something and I really dont want to go back to court because then I would have to go back to the state I came from...for now DD calls him everynight at 6 however she is napping right now and because of the two hour difference she may not call...any advice?? I am currently looking for a lawyer just incase but really needed to vent as this has been on my mind so heavily. thank you ladies...sorry if this doesnt quite make sense.

I think it might be best, if you think he is planning something, to have your daughter phone him every night at the same time. Get her into a routine of doing this... although it would be annoying it is one less thing he can fire back if he does end up taking you back to court. As he understands the reasons for you leaving I think he can understand why the first week or so your LO might not be calling at the same time etc but as I said before, think it would be good practice to get into the habit.

Sorry that you have had to move and experience so much disruption. :hugs:

She has been calling every night so thats a good thing...Last night I even talked to his mom and she was very nice so you're right...if I can keep things good with them maybe things will clear up....i just wish my DD wasnt so young having to go back and forth !

I know you don't want to but go to court because he might be up to all sort.My ex started acting crazy a few weeks ago, well actually he had bee n for months I was just in love or denial. Now I have to go to court to stop him calling harnessing me turning up at my house whenever he feels using our daughter to threat me saying his going to take her etc so the only way to protect yourself and daughter is court.I don't know how it works in the state but in the UK if a dad is on the birth he has equal rights but many use those equal rights against their ex and child. I can't believe this guy I once loved is causing so much drama and I never kept her from him so don't know why he has the right to take her away because of a piece of paper

We live in two different states and I am not at all planning to take his rights away..she is going to spend her summers there and school years here and so far he isnt disagreeing with that..her dad is not the reason I can not go back and he is actually the only one who knows where I am..I am just trying to keep the piece with him for our DD...which as some of you know can be hard at times...

Can't really offer any specific advice but my FOB took me to court as I moved 120 miles away, luckily he didnt file the papers straight away he told me what he was going to do first. So I took him to court instead. He then has to travel to MY local family court for any hearings. Good luck with everything!:flower:

We already have court agreement so either way I would have to travel to his state...
