I was supposed to be 10w yesterday called in Tuesday because I knew something wasn't right and so they made me an ultrasound appointment for yesterday. Confirmed there was no heartbeat and Baby measured 9w. He recommended a D&C for Monday so I agreed.
I started bleeding Friday it was basically brown and old, late last night and today it's been increasing and red. It's mid day now and there's been a ton of tissue clots and red bleeding. Like I stand up and blood just drops like I'm peeing sorry tmi.. I am having serious cramps and I know it's my body trying to get it out and I plan to call first thing Monday and let the dr know and see what he wants to do,
My question is would the Baby pass first? I'm trying to keep an eye out so I can let the dr know if I passed Baby. I'm assuming I would have passed the Baby first but this is my first miscarriage like this. The other one I was only 4.5-5weeks so it was just a period.
This is definitely NOT just a period.. it's much worse!

I'm so sorry

Personally, I know it's the weekend, but I would try and get some medical help/advice if the bleeding and pain is that bad? Have you got an Early Pregnancy Unit you can attend or at least call for advice? I haven't had a miscarriage that late on so I can't answer your question I'm afraid but I know sometimes they can do testing on foetal tissue if you're having recurrent MCs, so it might be worth getting some medical help ASAP?

Once again I'm so sorry for your loss xxx

Im sorry you're going through this. I would seek medical advice too if you're in a lot of pain, and in the meantime, Id put something underneath you (eg a tub) when seeing as baby could come out whilst you're on the loo (sorry to be blunt)

As for the clots and tissue- I passed lots both before and after I delivered my babies (15 and 18 weeks)

I don't feel it is bad enough to need to go to the emergency room, but its definitely worse than a normal period. I expected it to be and honestly as weird as it sounds i'm kind of glad its happening now and i'm hoping that Monday he will do another ultrasound and everything will have passed. For me it is helping me grieve and giving me a little bit of closure. Last night just thinking about going into the hospital and then just "discarding" my baby and me leaving empty was very emotional. I also am completely terrified of going into the hospital. the only time ive been in there was to deliver my daughter. Surgery or being put under completely terrified me and makes me want to have a panic attack thinking about it.

I'm so sorry you are going through this. I know a bit of your story so this has to be pretty hard. :hugs:

As for your question, yes it is very likely you will pass the baby before your appt on Monday if you are already cramping and bleeding as you describe. However, a few things to keep in mind-ibuprofen and tylenol are okay for pain but avoid aspirin since it's a blood thinner, no tampons at all (not even once the bleeding slows), and if you start soaking through a pad 2-3 times an hour or passing large clots (palm-sized or bigger), you should go in. Other than that, take it easy, push fluids, and a heating pad may help with the cramps. You can try catching the baby in a pot or bucket as a pp suggested. For me, the baby would pass right after my cramps got to the 'unbearable' stage and once it came out, the pains would literally stop. (Similarly to labor.)

You will usually see a sac at 9weeks with baby in it. I know it's terrible. But when I had my m/c I literally felt like I was having a huge contraction and I passed the baby. It was one of the last phases of my mc. At 9w you will know you have passed baby or not. If you don't by tomorrow I would recommend a d & c. I know it's such a terrible thing to deal with. I have two beautiful children and I still to this day, think about my mc and cry.

I had about 2-4 hours of those bad cramps and passing clots. I had some bigger ones but never saw anything that looked like a sac with a baby. I could have missed it possibly but I feel like I did a fairly good job or watching. The cramping has been gone since yesterday evening and the bleeding has slowed.. not sure what to think.

I feel like I passed everything but maybe I didn't?
