Need some help and info

On october 31st 2008 i had a termination as at my 12 week scan i found out my baby had Edwards syndrome. A month later i had my period, now i'm 9 days late. Took a test this morning and it says i'm pregnant. I'm scared incase i have to go through having a cvs and termination again as i'm againt them personally. Will i be able to carry this baby? I read that i could misscarry because of scar tissue? I'm so scared of losing this baby. Someone help. I'm about 5weeks going by the first day of my last period. All info welcome. X

My sister in law had a miscarriage then ERPC to remove everything and got pregnant again straight away before having a period. I think you should be fine. They generally recommend waiting until your first period before trying again, mainly for dating. I had a leaflet given to me by the hospital from the Miscarriage Association and it says that if you get pregnant again straight away, there should be no greater risk of miscarriage.

My sister had to have the CVS because they thought there was too much fluid around the baby's neck. She had it and got the all clear and carried full term and had a healthy baby girl (who's now 6) so I don't think that would affect your chances either.

when you miscarry or terminate your baby ur hcg levels take a while to go down so your pregnacy test may be a result from this.... you should contact your local doc and ask for appointment to discuss it further... try not to worry im sure everything will be ok for you good luck and im here if u need someone to talk to

I did wonder that about the test. I am 9days late though? I did think it could be because my body is still a bit messed up? I had my period 4 weeks after i stopped bleeding from the termination. How long does it take for the hcg levels to get back to normal so they wont give a false reading? Am seeing a consultant monday but will get an appointment with my doctor too. X

I had my ERPC on 29 December (so 2 weeks ago yesterday) and my tests are showing negative now. It does take some people longer but I'd guess that you are pregnant again as I'm sure your tests would've been showing negative by now. Probably best to go to the doctor to get it confirmed as it could still be from your previous pregnancy and, if it is, it could be that not everything was removed as I would imagine your body would show a negative test by now if you aren't pregnant again. I don't know but I'm just assuming. Good luck and I hope everything works out xxx
