Need Some Opinions With Clomid Ovulation......

Hi everyone, i dont post much but browse the site for advice and to read other peoples stories

I need some advice please as always so dissapointed every month with never getting a positive with even a OPK.

Dont want to bore you all, but just some info about my situation.....

Me and my fiance and have been trying TTC for over 2 years with no luck. We were recently reffered to a specialist which all my tests came back normal. So the next stage is now for me to have my BMI under 30 before we can have IVF. (after 6 cycles of clomid)

Im not hugely overweight but have to lose about 2 stone, im only 5"1 so im like a little telly tubby (add me on facebook.... Louise Arnold the picture is with me on the right with blonde hair and partner has a black T -shirt on)

My partners sperm count was good and not a problem, i had a hsg last month and my tubes were clear, also had my ovaries checked last year and fine to, and then the usual tests.

Problem with me is i dont have periods on my own, so i cant track when i ovulate or any signs of it. Since i had the mirena coil taken out it stopped all my cycles and ive never had a natural period.

(sorry to be so long winded about this)

Now the specialist clinic would not give me any clomid because of my BMI so with them they could not go any further, but advised if i wanted to see my GP to get a few months of northesterine to bring on a bleed i could as she said it might then restart them natural, and he also gave me few months of clomid without even mentioning my BMI he said all clinics work differently but the specialist clinic are to NHS guidelines, hence why they cant give it to you whilst BMI is over 30

So im now on my 3rd cycle to bring on a bleed and to take clomid again!

I have been taking the clomid 50mg on day 2-6 and i have been practically testing on first day for every day at least twice a day, last month when i had the hsg i took the clomid late so dont think i even O at all. Think it was like day cd 7-11

This month im upping my dose to 100mg and i had my first bleed today so will be starting clomid tmrw on day 2-6.

Now the problem im having is i dont think im ovulating at all, im not sure when i do as some times my OPK never get a second line and then sometimes i get a vv faint 2nd line.

I need help please if anyone knows when you would normally expect O to occur whilst on clomid. It gets me down so much as not O is hard to track, i had previously been off work for about 3mths at a time due to getting so down about all this, never a positive on any tests. Really starting to lose hope all together. But i joined W W couple of weeks ago and slowly losing some weight which is a boost but just seems no hope for us

Im also taking metformin again twice a day.

Would really appreciate any help or any advice anyone could give please.

we every other day when i start clomid but its just when is the best time. I have tried the clomid calculator but not sure how accurate those are. I dont temp either due to the fact i have to be up at 5am for work and not a morning person

Will post my OPK on here when i start to test Just hoping one day i will get even a positive on a OPK. Been such a long journey for us and soo much stress, i look up to all you ladies who have been so strong thro your journeys to

Hey, I am also on my thrid cycle...I havent had much luck with opks either (I have never even seen a feint line) so am using a clearblue fertility monitor this month see if thats any better. Soz thats prob not much help to you...have you not had a day 21 blood test?

I reckon temps are the best bet of seeing roughly when you ovulate, for me on my first two cycles my temps indicate thats been between CD15-17. Im on 100mg now as my blood tests only showed borderline ovulation.

If you check your CM, its supposed to be a good indicator of ov.

I would agree that taking temps is probably the best way for you to find out when you ovulate. They do say you should ovulate about 7-10 days ish after your last tablet. Could your GP not arrange bloods for you? These should be done 7 days after ovulation and if you were taking your temps you could work out when this is. I am surprised you have not had some form of monitoring while taking Clomid to make sure it works x

I was looking at getting one of those monitors, think it will track my O better!!

Ive had a few blood tests on day 21 and they have all showed under 1, so i was always showing no O. But that was before i took clomid.

But the specialist clinic who cant do any more further tests till my BMI is under 30 when she was putting me on the clomid was going to do follicle tracking and blood tests, then if all was unsuccesful i was going to have IUI then be IVF.

My GP who gave me the clomid didnt mention the tracking etc or blood tests, but i was lucky enough to get the clomid, i feel like im letting my b.f down every month i feel like taking the northesterine and then clomid makes me feel like im doing something

Just such a long journey to get a positive with anything

lesa- call your doc and ask for the day 21 bloods. i am not going to a specialty clinic, just obgyn for the first 6 months on clomid and he agreed i need at minimum the day 21 progesterone so they know if the dose needs to be increased. especially if you arent getting any positives, you may not be ovulating!! very important

I took my first clomid yesterday and now my period seems to of just gone to spotting?? anyone know why this might be??

I usually bleed for at least 4days when i have taken the northesterine, thank u xxx

Hi sweetie. i used to use the ovulation tests that had lines on them and i was never sure if they were correct or not...i now will only use the clearblue ones that have a smiley face when u r ovulating...they are brilliant...u can tell straight away rather than comparing lines or hloding the tests under a light. Good luck to you, i have got another 2 more months of clomid so will be starting again in september x

hi, i finished my last clomid today so does anyone know when is the best time to start testing for ovulation and when do you roughly O because ive upped my dose to 100mg this month so hoping i might get a positive OPK.

Hi, how are you getting on with the Clomid at 100mg? I never used to ovulate before i went on CLOMID then after 1 month on 100mg i had my day 21 test result and got brilliant levels

Have you tried taking evening primrose oil? you can take it day 1 to 10 and it will do miracles to your cervical fluid! its also good for your ovaries and maintaining a good immune system, I have also started to take a asprin a day to thin the blood to make it easier for the egg to implant every little helps as far as i am concerned and non of the above can harm you,

Hi amy, I never ovulated before clomid either, im on my first month at 100mg and have been taking rubitisson cough medicine to improve my CM - it doesnt seem to have worked much this cycle!! Did you notice a significant difference in CM from taking the evening primrose oil? Am thinking about taking it next cycle if this one is unsuccessful!

Hey, can you go for scans to see if you're ovulating??

Yeah it's really good but make sure you only take it days 1 to 10 because it can cause uterine contractions which isn't going to help u if u concieve! It's also really good if you suffer from endometriosis or ovarian cycsts also get your other half to take a selenium vitamin that has zinc and folic acid extracts lol there is lots you can do and I am willing to try anything as long as it's safe xxxxx
