need some positive advice

from half 1 till half 3 I was having quite strong (having to try and breathe through them and also wobbly legs with them like with my 1st) contractions about every 20 minutes then nothing for two hours. also had a clearout during this 2 hours. Contractions were painful enough for my mum to have to get my daughter (age 2) as i couldnt let her see me in pain. Now since 6 had a couple of strong ones but wondering now if anyone had this with their 2nd and went into labour that night? Kept daughter at my mums in case but now worrying she might have to stay there 2 nights.
