So Monday I had minor surgery on my tailbone and have an open wound. I can't sit on the couch only hard surfaces which really isn't something I like to do for long periods of time. So laying down it is.

I can't lay on my back with the sore even propped up because it's too painful. So I end up only on my side and my hips are killing me!

Any positioning ideas? I've tried propping with pillows in various ways with no luck. Maybe one of you wonderful ladies can help give me an idea.

I feel for you!! (I think) I had the same procedure done. The only way I could sleep until it healed was on a recliner/lazy-boy type chair and sitting on a boppy pillow with the open side facing back. Not very comfortable but it is almost literally the worst spot on your body to try to get comfortable! :hugs: Hoping for a fast recovery for you!

Ive never had that procedure but I do have chronic back and leg pain. I tend to find most comfort in laying on my side but almost on my tummy with one leg straightened out and one leg bent and pulled up as far toward my chest as is comfortable. And switch sides every little while. If you can imagine it by my description. (Almost like a jack knife position)

Ajlj yeah I think it was the same procedure. I don't have a boppy pillow but have tried just propping myself up with pillows and my back so the spot doesn't get touched and it doesn't work...

I try laying partly on my stomach which yes it does help but I'm getting too big with baby to do it for more than 5 mins even with pillows everywhere.

I'm suppose to go back to work Monday. Which will be interesting as I still can't drive much (the spot is in just the wrong spot!) and still need pain meds on and off. Hoping miracles happen over the weekend.
