I quite like the name Neiva for a girl, (maybe Neiva-Rose) nobody else dose, however which way would you spell it? x

Ha, nobody else on here seems to like it either! hmmm. I like Eva, and Ava but they are too common so thought this was similar without being too similar x

Not Niamh? You want the -a sound at the end?
It looks a bit imaginary but if you like it, you like it!

You have them both spelled.....Nieva or Neiva?

I dont like Neeva:nope:

Nieva, I never heard this name before, but seems nice for a girls name:thumbup:

Its from Spanish origin, It means snow, and Im due in January and live in Scotland so it could very likely be snowing! Just want something different thats not Isabella, Ruby or Olivia, no disrespect, gorg names but too popular x

i did have the name on my names list but then decided to go with something else.
i think its supposed to be spelt Neiva. but also can be spelt Naiva but said differently (nay-va instead of nee-va) and in my baby name book its spelt Nevea with one of those dash thingamabobs on top of the second 'e'. xx

Nieva :flower:. I like it, its unusual without being too 'far out'. xx

I do like the name, however here in Lancs and Yorkshire it is getting to be very popular like Isabella, Poppy, Lily, Ava, Olivia etc etc

I like the fact you have a reason for that name, always make it more special, not just because you like it!

I am quite traditional so like the original spelling of Niamh or Neve but of the two you have put I prefer the Neeva version.

Are you Scottish originally? Just something to think about, but I am further North than you and up here people would think it was a misspelling of Niamh. Niamh isn't common at all, but people know Gaelic names well.

I have a few on my list that get the same reaction. :haha: I know one of the ones i LOVE that my OH and mother both hate is Naya (pronounced Nya).

Anyway IMO i would go with Neeva or just Niva because even though Neiva may look prettier i think many would have trouble finding the correct pronunciation - like over the intercom at school or a new teacher... and it could get embarrassing for the child.
