Negative test 2 weeks afetr d and c?? AF?

Finally feel ready to come into this forum from the miscarriage one

i had my d and c 2 weeks ago- i was 11 weeks 6 days and baby was 8 weeks 5 days

i tested today and it was negative..

is this a good sign AF should be coming??


any experience ladies please

Hi sorry about your loss. I had an D&C done at the start of August and I was similar to you, should have been 11w5d but was 8w3d I got a negative test about 2-3 weeks after but it wasn't until 7 weeks after that I got my AF. Everyone is different though, some people will get theirs back 4 weeks after or some people will be waiting months so no way to really know Hope you are doing ok.

thansk for the relpy... very similar stories and similar time frame for negative test but 7 weeks for af!! DONT THINK I CAN WAIT 5 MORE WEEKS..
im thinking of just TTC now without waiting for AF..
what do peple think???

I have heard mixed reviews on that. My doctor said for us to use protection until AF arrives. The risk is that your lining isn't thick enough to support another pregnancy. If you are one of those people that would take 6-7 weeks for AF, that means it took that about that long for your lining to build up and your body to be ready. So trying again quickly could work against you. But if you are one of the people whose cycle returns to normal very quickly, your lining could already be building back up nicely. It's hard to know. Do what feels right for you. In my case, we decided to wait until after AF...
Which is easier for dating purposes and will also help me to feel a bit more at ease in those first few weeks because I will know that my body is back in "baby ready" mode. Good luck!!!

I was still having a faint BFP 3 weeks after the D&C, I haven't tested again since then. I'm now almost 5 weeks post D&C and there's no sign of AF yet. Some women fall pregnant without ever getting their AF back, but as kdmalk said, I would rather wait to try till after at least 1 normal cycle so I'm sure my lining has built up again.

I have read plenty people online get pregnant straigh away after d and c and no peirod and fine pregnancy- not sure i can wait 7 weeks
peolpe believe if your body is not ready for the baby to stick to your lininig then it wont let you get pregnant so think were going to TTC and go with whatever comes ..

My doctor told me after my D&C that most women return to 0 2 weeks after a D&C, 4 weeks at the longest, but that it may still take up to 3 months for AF to return.

My body's being weird and not sticking to that AT ALL, though, so your mileage may vary.
