I will find out the names of them when I am on laptop x
We have the same problem with cats coming into our garden, it drives me crazy. I don't let my dog go wandering into other people's gardens to do her business, and if I did I'd get in trouble for sure. So why is it ok for cats to do this? I really don't agree with cats roaming around freely outside, especially in cities and towns. Have a cat if you want but either keep it inside or move to the country.. Ok, rant over. Anyway, I haven't used any repellents really because our dog always plays in the garden, she would go and lick things like chilli powder for sure, I imagine it would hurt their nose and eyes and don't even want to imagine the poos that would follow!
Prsonslly I think that's a tad unfair. I agree in big cities with no gardens etc, but I live in a normal house, normal town. Large garden, it'd be unfair to expect my cat to stay inside.
In terms of the chilli powder, how awful! I hope the cats will be okay x
From the view of someone who doesn't keep pets.. is it not unfair to expect others to clean up poo because you fancy having a cat?
Im one with cats who choose to be indoors. My 2 are wimps lol. One if he goes outside shakes like a leaf and the other only wants to go out on lead. One house we were in had car park outside as not going out them led to them wanting to be indoors lol. There is plants you can plant though not sure which. Some people use orange or satsuma pealWe have the same problem with cats coming into our garden, it drives me crazy. No I understand the frustration with the mess, my cat won't mess in my garden.. She has a litter tray but refuses to use it. She shouldn't be confined to living inside. It's not 'fancy owning a cat' in my eyes, cats exist.. They shouldn't be confined to indoors because they roam. I completely understand the mess being annoying..
She won't mess in my garden, but two other cats do from next door. and I have to clear it. Yes it's annoying, but I don't think it's the owners fault because.. What can they do? and I also don't think that cats should be confined because of it. We wouldn't cage birds/foxes etc because their mess annoyed us. Cats can climb, they're independent, it's useless to expect owners to follow them as they can roam large distances, but it'd be cruel to confine them indoors if that's not what they want. (I know some cats like to be inside cats) just my opinion I have a dog I clear up after, and if my cat would do it wear me I'd clean that too.
I agree with a previous poster. I don't want a cat, why should I have to pick up cat poo from my own garden? :s makes no sence to me. They piss me off tbh, they sit on my car, they tease my dog, they even sometimes sneak in to my house!!!!! Ive sprayed them with water but they keep coming back...
So why should I have to go to the extent to spend my own money on fixing a problem that I didn't choose to have?
Argh im getting pissed off just thinking about it. That said, I'd never ever hurt them.
we have the same problem with cats in our garden and are looking for ways to deter them. my dad has filled the sides of his garden with glass marbles which appear to have worked. apparently it keeps the cats away because when the glass marbles shimmer in the light, it looks like water and the cats won't go anywhere near it. a nice feature and cat deterrant in one! we're looking to get some when we go up at the weekend xx
