My little guy is walking the tightrope for discharge and its nervewracking this time! He's done 3 1/2 weeks in NICU now (born 32 weeks exactly and 35 +4 now) and generally is healthy and doing what he needs to do. He's been completely bottle/breastfed for 3 days now and thriving, needs no breathing help or temperature help. He was due to be home sunday/monday but on friday he had a brady and needed stimmed so we were back on the 5 day automatic wait for home from the last one he had the tuesday before. Now he's day 4 of the 5 and its dragging to be at day 5 and get the wait over! He's done much better since his NG tube came out and he got on meds for reflux although his HR does still drop with feeding, he comes round himself which is ok.

I dont remember this from before, it was feeding/weightgain/temp regulation mainly.

His carseat is there now for the carseat challenge tonight, we're soooooo close :argh:

Yeah, I'm not sure why some NICUs are hard up about bradies. I'm sure perfectly healthy full-term babies get them occasionally, they are just not being monitored 24/7! Our nurse practitioner says bradies aren't significant unless they last more than 20 seconds, otherwise they are pretty normal. My baby isn't anywhere close to coming home (he's just 32 weeks and still under 4lbs) but I worry he won't pass those "brady tests" near discharge.

Keeping everything crossed he gets home.

Glad to hear he is doing well xx

He got home:happydance:

Bit of a hairy night, this kid is so hard to wake for feeding! So far doing good, he had his pediatrician check post discharge yesterday and back monday for another weight check and tuesday fo his eyes (his eye test in NICU showed retinopathy). Very glad to be home and loving having here:cloud9:

Sunny, the ones needing stimmed last over 20 secs, for them they keep the babies in an automatic extra 5 days here :( If shorter than that and self resolving then thats fine:hugs:

25 weeker, thanks hun:hugs: How're you doing?x
