I've never had glasses until now.

I recently had an eye test and my prescription is +0.25 R and +0.50 L

Optician said I'm long sighted and have 20/20 vision but need them for reading and computer use.

I have never had eye strain head aches but since wearing them today I've had the worse headaches and my eyes feel strained! Never had this before.

I only had the test as I get it free with work but after paying a small fortune for glasses I don't actually want to wear them now!

I am on my phone now and can see and read all of this text but it gets a little fuzzy every so often and I find myself blinking a fair bit. With the glasses on its sharper but my left eye seems more blurry which I'm guessing is causing headaches?

Could they have gotten my prescription wrong?? Am I able to be retested for free?

I think they can check your prescription and make sure its right but I'd give it a couple of days I find if my perscription has changed i get headaches for a few days to get used to the new glasses etc also sometimes i get headaches because the glasses themselves are too tight/don't fit/sit right.

Thanks for reply!

They were adjusted in store to fit tighter as I was told the frames were too loose.

I just thought everything would be clearer but its not :(

Erm I think if your prescription has a minus in front if it then it's normally for shortsightedness, eg my prescription is -2.00 and I see words on a page in front if me etc better if I'm not wearing my glasses (the letters kind if look bigger iykwim). When I first started wearing glasses I felt like my eyes were working harder and got headaches for a few weeks but then they got used to the glasses and now I get headaches if I don't wear my glasses. So a long way of saying see how it goes in a few days, if you only wear glasses for reading it nay take a while to get used to them.

Ooops it's actually +0.25 and +0.50

I always had that the first few days of new glasses/perscriptions. I was -4.00 in both eyes so could not see a thing without glasses so didnt have a choice but to wear them! Had laser last year, best thing i ever did!

With reading glasses, you literally just wear them when you need them, wearing them more than you need to will give you a bad head. Unless your prescription is +/- 1.50 or more, you wouldnt need to wear them more often x

Maybe it's just cos your eyes are getting used to them? When I first started wearing glasses I hated them as they just to give me head aches x

Whenever my prescription changes I always get a headache for a day or two while I readjust. Also to a pp - my prescription is +.75/+1.00 and there's no way I could only wear my glasses part time!
