I just had to join a group for my sanity and to feel like I was contributing to the TTC community!

I am 40, single and recently had my first "official" round of IUI.
I took a few 50mg Clomid a month prior to TTC to see if there would be side effects- and nothing except a cycle that was 2 days longer than normal. Also testing for ovulation as well.
I have regular 28 day cycles that last 2-3 days since the age of 15 with a very few exceptions- one is noted above.
I have been planning this for a year or two so had all my ducks in a row with the sperm bank, charting, tests and my fertility med's.
I took 50mg Clomid day 1-5 (Nov. 30-Dec. 4 2010), plain Robitussin (2 tbsp daily) since CD 8. Also taking 100mg B6 and a good multi-vitamin- still.
I woke at 5am exactly 7 days after my last Clomid with a very strong + on my OPK (CD 12, 2 days earlier than expected).
Tested 3-4 more times just to be sure and called in the troops around 10 am. My volunteer midwife said that no sperm "was lost" in the transaction- and was very satisfied w/the results. Wore Instead cups to eliminate loss, changed them every 4 to 6 hours and wore them for 3 days. (Because as you probably know, sperm can live up to 5 days).
I felt my temp going down in the pm at 3 DPO so I began my Progestin @ 100mg that night and subsequent 400mg doses per day since then.
I had a temp dip 12 DPO w/out spotting, but have had cervical mucus everyday since ovulation. I have been checking the position of my cervix in the shower since 13DPO (not every day, but just about) and it has remained high and closed- or at least that's how I caught it! I have also had the cramps, darker areola's, food cravings and aversions, nausea, vivid dreams of things/people loved and lost, smell sensitivity and mild mood swings.
Now I'm at CD 32, 19 DPO (give or take a day)- no AF with high temp's still. I have not tested since CD 29, but that was not morning urine- BFN.
I used a wonderful sperm bank in Spokane WA that was incredibly affordable. I am single and not into all that unnecessary drama usually associated w/relationships thus I found this method for obtaining sperm the most convenient and safe. It is most comforting to know that the samples are DD free and have been tested for motility and survival rates- and I will use this method again if this cycle was unsuccessful.
My midwife wants me to continue taking the Progestin until the second week of January- and if I still get a BFN to go ahead and have a Beta test. If the Beta test is negative, then I can stop the progesterone and begin charting again.
The most frustrating part of the 2ww was that, every symptom that I had could be dismissed- but the longer I go w/out an AF- the symptoms can be more reliable. I am very excited for myself and all of you- and truly wish you success in your journey of TTC.
I will keep you updated as I am.
