New here, gearing up for 1st Clomid/IUI cycle

1hopefull~ I know what you mean.. and with it fluctuating so much- it is near impossible to make heads or tails of any signs or symptoms which is why I am going to try and not read into ANYTHING! Cramps CAN 200% be a good sign though! so be optimistic until you know either way!!! FX'd for you!!!

AF showed late yesterday afternoon. Boo!

I go in tomorrow morning to get a confirmatory pregnancy draw but also for CD3 labs to get IUI cycle 2 rolling.

I'm opting for in-office monitoring this cycle, so I'll be taking 100mg clomid on days 5-9 with a 10,000iu hcg trigger shot for ovulation and u/s to monitor the follicles.

I'm hoping this will give me a little more insight into what's happening after I get my +opk.

Oh darn That stinks

Did you have 100 mg your first go around of Clomid?? Why are they redrawing your labs??? I wonder if that is typical.. I am not sure what my doc will do if we need a 2nd IUI. That is nice that you're going to be able to monitor it too.. it kinda sucks when you just take a pill, wait for an OPK+ and are left in the dark.

Hi Ladies- so i got my very first BFP yesterday!!!!!!! i am still in shock! i feel so blessed.
my dr called me yesterday to say "i have good news. you are pregnant BUT your beta is only 15" so i was told to be cautiously optimistic. i go in for beta #2 on monday. i am so happy and relieved to know that 1. i have eggs!!!!!! 2. they work! 3. DH spermies work!!! I can't explain how wonderful that feeling is....... so i am going to (am already) going to enjoy my weekend being pregnant, pray that my little beanie is just a late implanter and hope for the best. i'll deal with monday on monday!

Yup I had 100mg last time. They redo labs each time as a protocol. It's good - they can monitor FSH and estrogen each time and make sure it's still good.

My CD3 labs were totally normal and my preliminary ultrasound showed no follicles (good) to get a baseline to compare to after I'm done with the clomid regimen. I'll come back after that for another U/S to see how many and big the follicles are, and then get instructions for my trigger shot.

LOL I'll finally get to see what a BFP looks like with the trigger shot (hcg) even if it's false! I'm going to test it out until it shows up negative so I know if it turns + after that, it's real.

1hopeful, I got the AF while taking Progestin (400mg daily)- I think any slight drop in the progesterone will cause menstruation to start.
I am hanging in here, following this thread. I want to try again in March so badly, but the costs are so high- close to $350 for one "sample" each try. I know there are many tries in one vial.. and its so worth it too! But, I don't know. Wish I had a sperm buddy/friend who would be willing to help me out, but in this part of the country- you mention that four letter word (baby) men and friends alike run!

Beau geste~ I'm glad everything looks good so that there is no delay with starting your 2nd attempt! Keeping my FX'd for you this time!!!!

I am planning on testing tomorrow or Tuesday.. not sure. I don't want to think either way about it right now... trying to remain neutral at this point! I was out of town all weekend, went to Disney Friday night and just got home tonight. It's soooo good to step away from EVERYTHING!!

a lil update~ I got 2 faint BFP's this morning!!!! I had a feeling I might be but was afraid to read into anything~ been feeling crampy and just VERY tired!!! I am going to retest in the morning to be sure~ but I am pretty positive that the IUI worked!!!

Congrats holly..so exciting! I started day one today and will go for my first IUI this mon th. What was your situation as far as why you hadn't yet conceived? Unexplained? Male factor? Congrats again!

Holly- WOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is so awesome! So happy for you! Congrats and here's to a H&H 9 months!



I also have good news, my beta is 93 today! It was 15 on 13pdiui and 93 (OMG) on 16dpiui. I couldn't have asked for better results. The dr. is less worried now and I have my first scan on Monday.

Kaylakin~ thank you for the congrats!! The reason I had Clomid with the IUI was bc my DH's sperm analysis came back not so hot a few months ago~ only 4% normal sperm and slightly low count. Thankfully~ at the time of the IUI he had twice as many sperm AFTER the wash which was awesome news. We also BD'd EVERY.SINGLE.DAY. for NINE days straight! Best of luck to you!!!

Thanks for the good luck wishes. Congrats to you as well! I am taking clomid, just started tonight, cd 3, for five days. I will have tracking scans and then a trigger shot before the iui. It was weird how I'm excited to be starting iui this cycle, but I was freaked out to take the clomid at first.. it just seems so weird to be messing with your body like that..but it will all be worth it. Good luck on your upcoming scan...so exciting!
