Hi all, this is my first time posting on this forum or any other TTC forum. I've been lurking for a while and have not finally plucked up the courage to post. While TTC is such an exciting time I'm finding its quite a lonely time too especially during the infamous 2 week wait to test.

I'm married 2 years and my husband and I decided to start trying in May. However I'd been on the pill for 11 years so my period didn't arrive for 45 days once I stopped the pill so I'm counting from June onwards in terms of months TTC.

I am so frustrated and I know its only been afew months but AF hasn't settled and so, I am finding it difficult to track my fertile days! My first real period after the pill arrived on the 18th June, my next period was 30 days later on the 17th July and following that 32 days later on the 17th August.

With not knowing when my next period will arrive (& Im hoping it doesn't) Predicting ovulation is so difficult.

I am hoping with the knowledge and experiences of you all that you can help me and share in the experience!?

I'm guessing (and I am no expert) that this is my fertile week if I am to assume I have a 30/32 cycle. We BD'd on the 22nd, 23rd, 26th, 29th & 31st (TMI sorry!) - I know we need to BD again tonight and over the weekend but so far - what do you think are my chances of concieving???

I am so impatient I know but since we made the decision to have a baby I want it so badly. Have you noticed babies everywhere or am I completely losing the plot!!!

Would love to hear your stories and have your input!!!

In anticipation of a reply xxx

Good Morning :)

I know how you feel! i also have irregular periods ranging from 30-40 days and i was very lost to start with!

Have you looked into buying a clear blue fertility monitor? (ebay is the best place!) this has been a god send for me! you pee on a stick (POAS) put it in the machine and it will give you a LOW, HIGH or PEAK reading:
LOW = non fertile day (no estrogen or LH rise)
HIGH = estrogen rise, detected upto 5 days before ovulation
PEAK = LH rise detected 24-36hrs before ovulation
you BD (baby dance) on your HIGH and PEAK days and 2 days after then start you TTW (two week wait)
for me this is the only way i know when im ovulating as my cycles are too irregular and i find the normal OPK can be miss read easily and will only tell you when you LH rise is happening (24-36hrs befor O) with the CBFM you will know upto 5 days before!!

I hope this helps a little :) fingers crossed for you

Michelle

Hi there, not sure if Im much help as Im new too! Ive been using Mymonthlycycles.com where you put in the first day of your period and it works out what you supposed fertile days are. Ive been tracking this way since June as I was waiting for my periods to settle after 15 years on the pill as well, and things now seem to be getting there.

I dont know how accurate it is though, so Ive bought (from Amazon) some of the cheaper OPKs where you pee in a pot and it tells you 24hrs or so beforehand. (the ones that Michelleann was talking about) I bought HPTs from them as well.

Reading her review, I may well look at getting the CBFm myself if things dont work this month!

Good luck with it and yes, there are babies EVERYWHERE!!

I would suggest you start charting your temperature and cervical mucus - this tells you a lot about your cycle and will help you.

Hi All, and thank you for your replies.
I'm using the online ovulation calculators which said I was fertile from Monday last week until Friday. We Bd'd either every 2nd or 3rd day so fingers crossed...guess my two week wait starts now!???

Thanks for all of your replies. If my cycles runs 30/32 days I think my two week wait starts now!? I so badly want this month to be my month. I've had really bad pain in my right hand side since last Monday - perhaps a sign of ovulation? Its still there today but its more of an ache than a pain so I think it may be subsiding.... after so long on the pill all these pains and aches and hormanal feelings are very hard to get used to!
