Hello :)

My husband and I have recently decided to TTC and I stopped my birth control on Aug 10 (just in time for my regular week off). I had my regular withdrawl bleed the next week and felt great for another week. Since then I've had lots of cramping, sore nipples and difficulty sleeping... it's driving me crazy! I'm hoping this is just my body getting used to making it's own hormones again, and that things will normalize quicly. Of course, since we made this decision to TTC, I have become so impatient, lol... I think the hardest part for me will be all the waiting and uncertainty. We're not using OPK's or bbt at this point, but based on how impatient I'm feeling already, we may get there sooner rather than later!

Did others have symptoms like this coming off of birth control? How long did they last?

Good luck to all you lovely ladies :)

I had all of the symptoms you're describing - especially the nipples! They were so sore, I could hardly stand underneath the shower... Because we didnt wait to TTC, I thought for sure I was pregnant, and went through so many tests... I was also tracking my BBT and wondered why I didnt have a shift -turns out I didnt ovulate, and three months later and I still havent ovulated!!!

I would definitely try BBT - it's been such a relief for me, because you can tell where you are in your cycle.

Good luck - I hope you get your BFP soon!!!

Glad to know I'm not the only one with all these symptoms after stopping birth control... when you start BC, they never tell you what to expect when you stop. We have also not waited to TTC so if AF is late, I won't know when to start testing. I am seeing the GP on Sept 8 for my yearly exam though, so if nothing has happened by then, I will ask her what she thinks.

Yeah, I didn't know much about BBT until I started reading this forum... gonna do a little more research and may give it a try. I think I ovulated this cycle though based on lots of EWCM over a period of 3 - 4 days, and the fact that the sore nipples started the day after the EWCM stopped (I'm a bit of a compulsive "googler" and have read that sore nipples can be from progesterone after ovulating). Of course, I don't know for sure, and perhaps it's wishful thinking, but I'll take what I can get, lol.

Good luck to you too! Hopefully you get your BFP soon :) (it took me a little while to figure out what that meant, haha, there's a steep learning curve here).

All those are normal things you'd expect to experience during your cycle, but I found the first month they definitely seemed more intense. I'm not sure it had much to do with birth control (as it's already out of your system at that point), but I think for me it was just not being used to feeling anything related to my natural cycle. I never even really got cramps when I had my withdrawal bleed on the pill. But ovulation cramps and all those other hormonal responses are normal. It's just that birth control numbs your system enough that you aren't used to them. So I think they probably seem really intense the first month as that system picks back up. Mine definitely did. It did seem to settle down the second month though, so hang in there. Also, it's a great time to learn about how your body reacts to things, how you feel around ovulation, or after since it will all seem so amplified. I made a note of it all that first month so it was easier to know when ovulation happened the next month.

I stopped taking my birth control pills in April, but hubby and I didn't try long at all since he was supposed to be deploying and we both wanted the birth to be when he was home. I had all of the crazy symptoms when coming of birth control and even though I knew it was too soon, I thought it must have been pregnancy. But no luck :( We got news that he is not scheduled to deploy now so we're trying again!!(: I took my last pill on the 22nd of this month. So far, the only thing I have experienced is my withdrawal bleeding from stopping the pill. Last time I only had withdrawal bleeding for like three day and it was very light and spotty and this time its actually full length AF. So maybe this is actually AF and ill be one of those lucky ladies who get the BFP very soon after stopping!

I've been attempting to track my BBT, but my temp has been all over the place since coming off the pill, but no major patterns, and no AF. I'm starting to get a bit frustrated and discouraged, and over the strange symptoms I keep having from the hormones. What does your BBT chart look like if you're not ovulating? Does your temp still go up before AF....? I'm confused.

I took my last pill on the 10th of Aug, I was on my normal period when I stopped so no withdrawl bleed for me. I started cramping almost imediately after AF was done, I had cramps for almost two weeks along with watery, lotion like CM. I have had this CM since the day I stopped AF on Aug 12th to yesterday when AF came again. My CP has also been super high and soft except for one day it dropped down pretty low. I have been super tired, hungry, moody, and incredibly emotional. I was super convinced I was pregnant. I was even having vivid dreams of BFP! I had all the clasic signs of pregnancy, but alas, I have no idea if I even ovulated. I am assuming I did based on all the cramps, some were a lot more intense at a certain time. I was also going off the pills and saying my cycle was 28 days but in all actuallity it was only 26 days this time. So I don't know if that is normal or not, but at least AF came! So I guess I did ovulate. Well enough of my rambling. I am actually going back on the pill this week after AF is done, we are wating till next year to TTC again.. not my choice...

Hi All,

My Husband an I have decided to start TTC after six months of marriage. I came of my BC pill on 14th Aug, since have felt absolutely fine apart from 2 days of feeling very strange and having slight cramps, along with very vivid dreams an disturbed sleep, which I'm hoping was me ovulating but I'm not sure. Have been on my BC for 6years now, I'm also not sure if this will effect how long it will take my body to go back to normal. I to am not using OPK or BBT'ing yet, but feel I'm getting very impatient with not knowing if I've ovulated or not. I'm hoping I have an get AF on 17th.
We've only been trying 3 weeks an I've probably read most things ever written on Internet abt TTC!!
Glad to know I'm not the only impatient one!!

Good Luck to you all!!

Xx
