Hello all

this is my first post so apologies in advance for ignoring any forum ettiquet.

I am now 6 weeks gone and just have some questions about the way i feel and general advice.

1. I am trying to get natural iron into my diet. However the only meat I eat is seafood. Any tips for high iron food would be greatly appreciated. How much iron do i really need and is it ok to have supplements?

2. I feel drained of my energy all the time is this common? After work I cant get off the sofa all evening.

3. I also felt extremely upset and tearful today for no reason...hence me joining this forum as I wanted some advice from others as to whether this is normal.

Thanks for just reading this post and if you can give me any advice it'll be greatly appreciated.

1. If you need extra iron someone will tell you
2. Perfectly normal, your bodies not used to working this much
3. Hormones! One of the worst pregnancy symptoms

You sound fine to me.

Welcome to B&B :hi:

I have a feeling that spinach is high in iron (sorry if I have got this wrong). You may want to google this.

To feel tired and tearful is perfectly normal in pregnancy. This also may be connected with your lack of iron too.

Hope you enjoy the forum.

Welcome to the forum, hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy

Hiya, welcome. I still feel tired and I´m almost 13 weeks gone, and any time I see someone cry (even on TV) I feel obliged to join in so think yes is the answer to those two questions. LOL.
Congrats and good luck x

:hi: Welcome to the forum!

I would talk to your doctor about the amount of iron you are getting, they may want to go ahead and put you on an iron supplement. The tiredness unfortunately is very very common, especially in the first trimester--it usually gets better in the second! Hormones, well they last throughout

Congratulations on your pregnancy!
