hello all, im a self confessed b&b stalker but i thought now was the time to post as i need your help...

Quick run down on me...

Me 25: No obvious problems
DH 40: Low Count & lazy buggers!

1x failed IVF Aug 2010 - 8 eggs retrieved, 5 fertilazed, put 1 back on day three froze the rest

1x FET Oct 2010 - 2 made it through the thaw, 2 put back but still

decided to take a break, was stuggling with the whole ivf thing took it out on hubby and decided to split for a while... came to my senses and decided to prepare for ivf 2#

Started IVF 2# this month

they decided on an antagonist/short protocol for me as i seem to be a slow responder, so they started me off on 112 gonal f, then said take 150, then i went for a scan on fri and they said take 200 and on sat and sun take 225, i've also been on certrotide for 5 days, i've been stimming for 2 weeks now.

Anyway to cut a long story short, i woke up monday morning went to the loo wiped myself and there was blood??? i panicked and rang the emergancy number she said come for a scan i went and it confirmed what i thought, im losing my lining!!!!

She said she could see 2 follies on my left and 3 on my right, she said we will still do EC and we will freeze them and build your lining back up. I feel gutted i cant belive it they said i will have to wait for 3 months before they go back.

Im booked for EC tomorrow so we'll just have to wait and see i suppose, but i just wanted to know if anyone else has had this happen due to bleeding?

Hi Lilybean,

I'm afraid I can't help you with the bleeding, but just wanted to wish you well with your EC. I had mine on Monday and I am just getting ready for my day 3 transfer tomorrow, just 2 eggs fertilised, so fingers crossed.

I know how frustrating the wait is, I had the opposite happen to me. On my cancelled IVF in May my lining was thick and it turned out I had a cyst. I waited 3 months for my period to start, not knowing what was really happening. It came eventually and I changed to a short protocol. I am realising IVF is a big waiting game, which doesn't help when the specialist says (and I quote) 'tick, tock you clock is ticking we need to act fast' - hmmm, that's helpful!

Anyway, good luck to you and hope everything goes well. Frozen eggs is much better than nothing. Take care XXX

hi carebear, im sorry to hear about your cancelled cycle, im sure the wait is agonizing!! but exciting stuff about ET i bet you cant wait! are you having them both put back? :happydance:

I spoke to the nurse about me bleeding but she said it's so uncommon and dosen't know what could have caused it

Egg collection went well, but only 5 eggs retrieved but im ok with that just glad i've got some just got to keep our fingers crossed for fertilizing now.

The doc's are great at saying the wrong things arn't they :dohh: all i've heard all day is "well it only takes 1" what made things worse is the lady next to me got 25! couldn't help but feel a little :hissy: but everyone's different i suppose.

I hope all goes well for ET tommorow I've got my fingers crossed for you xxx

Hello I'm glad your egg collection went well. I can understand your dissapointment with just 5 eggs, as whilst it does only take one it is nice to have a few frosties as a back up plan, a bit of piece of mind to get you through. I only had 4, 2 fertilised and they put one grade A,8 cell embie back in today. I also had a 4 cell embie, but they'd only let me put the one back in. They are going to monitor the other one and freeze it if it takes off. So fingers crossed this 'one' will take.

Good luck with your next round and try and enjoy those few months break :flower:

Wishing you lots of luck :dust:

hi

yes this happened me on antagonist , did it happen to be origin clinic in belfast? i would not recomend this clinic, i started bleeding when they lowered my menopur and lost most of lining as well as lost my egg quality, although i had lots of eggs none of them were any good . antagonist dosnt seem to suit everyone.

That sounds great carebear! a grade A embie 8 cell is wicked i'd be over the moon with that :happydance: how come your clinic only let you have one put back?

The clinic rang this morning to say they could only fertilize 3 as one wasn't mature and the other one died, so they did icsi and all 3 fertilized but I dont think my clinic are very positive for mine because they already said i can have 2 if they make it through thawing, and they want to do a day 2 transfer

Well i've just got to keep positive at least ive got some

I really hope you get your :bfp: send you lots of :dust: too x

hi ttcforever, it's so strange about the bleeding, im so sorry to hear about your eggs. i went back for a follow up today and apparently it only happens to 5% of people, obviously we were just the unlucky ones

Im at bourne hall clinic in colchester, from what they tell me they use this protocol quite regularly but the doc who did my ec had never seen it in her whole career! im lucky that i managed to get a few eggs but sad that i feel like i've been robed of a fresh cycle.

Have you changed clinics now? have you done a long protocol before?

Take care :hugs:

Thanks Lilybean - it's great news that all 3 fertilised. I had mine at Leeds and they made us sign to say we would only have a single embryo transfer, it is their policy. I think they make the decision on transfer day based on age, fertility issues, embryo quality etc. So if I had say 2 four cell ones they would have probably put them both in, but as i had an 8 cell they would only let us have the one - I did ask for the two, but no luck - but hey what do we keep hearing 'it only takes one' :winkwink:

yep and they are right it does only take one and with yours being a grade A def makes it better

I thought my clinic would only let me have one put back but on my last FT they let me have 2, i never found out the quality of my last eggs but im assuming they prob wasn't great and i was only 24 then or i drove them mad so they was praying i'd get pregnant so i didn't come back! :haha: It varies so much from clinic to clinic.

i hope these next couple of weeks go quickly for you :hugs:
