hi
for a newborn all u need is a tiny tiny spot of baby bath in the water, as products are too harsh for their skin.
once theyr maybe a couple of months old u can use shampoo and baby wash etc.
johnsons baby do great baby bath and washes which are supposed to be great for newborns, but the midwives always advise waiting little longer so as not to sensitise their skin.
hope this helps hun
We got loads for Elliot and have only used some baby shampoo so far as his skin was really dry when he was born after going overdue. If you've got storage space just get bits when they're on offer but don't be too worried about getting stuff. We've been using Emulsifying stuff we got on prescription to wash him with and aqueous cream / double base cream afterwards (and before on his head).
I'm sorry if I'm being slow, but this is all new to me. If I put a drop of baby wash in the water, will I have have to fill the bath again with clean water to get it of him, or is it ok just to dry him?
u can just give him a wee rub with a flannel soaked with the bath water with the baby bath in it then give him a quick rinse over with the same flannel and water u only have to rub a bit of the water into their hair with ur hand too if u dont want to use shampoo straight away
it doesnt even leave soap or bubbles on their skin
We always just rinsed Hannah off as the above said and never really had any problems. We used baby oil early on for cradle cap and started using lotions after a few months
I too just use a bit of Johnson's Baby Bath. Harry has quite a lot of hair and I was using Johnson's Shampoo every time I bathed him... but then his head started getting a little dry, so I stopped. I only wash his hair every now and then, and just use some of the bath water.
You can get a Johnson's Baby Box which has everything in it and is dead handy for storing other stuff too https://www.toysrus.co.uk/Babies-R-...ohnsons-Baby-Skincare-Essentials-Box(0025283)
You dont really need to use anything on a newborn. Although when my baby was born he had very dry skin so i did use johnsons baby oil after his bath and johnsons baby moisturiser. Like caggimedicine said above, you can get that box. Thats what i have!
I have the white version of that box too. I also have a tub of Aqueous Cream cos my LO was also overdue with quite dry skin. The midwife at the hospital who showed me how to bathe him said that Johnsons Top-to-toe wash is a good alround product to use and you dont need much else to begin with with newborns.
Think that box is on offer at the moment in our local Mothercare. (white version).
Like said before you dont really need anything at first. I use halos and horns you can get it from tescos and morrisons it doesnt contain some of the harmful things in. Benn has very sensitive skin and johnsons products flare it up but his fine with the halos and horns products and they smell delicious.
