Nights worse, not better

Jack always used to cluster feed in the evenings and then sleep until about 4.30am and again until 7 or so. But at some point he stopped cluster feeding and I introduced a dreamfeed, which had the same effect.

But the last few weeks he has started waking twice a night, regardless of whether I give him a dreamfeed or not.

We've tried all sorts to resolve it. We thought he had outgrown his crib and was feeling cramped, so moved him to his cotbed. No effect. The heat, so he sleeps in just a nappy with one sheet. No effect.

Has anyone else found their LO's sleeping routine disrupted and if so what did you do about it?

Do you have a fan or air conditioning? If it is super hot where you are, just sleeping in a diaper wont help...

He may be going through a growth spurt too...

Olivia was sleeping through until 6.00am in the morning but then began waking at 3.00am-3.30am for a feed then again at 6.00am. Last night we placed a huge fan in the room and she didnt wake until 6.00am this morning so I think for Olivia it must be the heat.........

I've been toying with using the fan, will try that. Don't think it's a growth spurt Ryder, as it's been going on every night for a few weeks.

The heat has affected DS. Its almost 30 in our room, and last night he fed at 11pm, 2am, 4am, 6am and 8am. I'm pretty tired today!

Oh no! :hugs:

I don't know if I'm relieved or not... if it was something that some BF babies just went through then that would be a comfort, knowing it was normal and just a phase. But if it really is the heat then at least I can potentially do something about it, but on the other hand, it could be this hot for the rest of the time he's exclusively BF and no amount of fan usage may be enough!

We were having problems with it but opened both windows last night and she slept from 12am to 5.30am (longest she's ever slept on a night!) and then woke 7am. Definitely the heat here!

Well even with the fan on Olivia still woke twice, once at 2.00am and then at 4.30am but then slept until 8.00am. It was 29 degrees in our room all night even with the fan on, hope it cools down alittle today!!!

Well we had both windows open and the fan on last night, I also didn't bother with a sheet or blanket over him. I had to close the big window mid night as our cats kept jumping in through it lol! (Our room is on the ground floor). It did the trick, Jack only woke once and that was without a dreamfeed :happydance:

It's raining heavily here and has cooled down loads, thankfully.

I hope everyone else's LOs sleep better tonight.

Ellis has been a nightmare to settle the last few nights and when finally down he keeps waking every hour or so. Bring him in bed with us and he sleeps like an angel lol!!! Hoping for a better night tonight as it's much cooler! Why could I not be lucky and have a child that sleeps more??!!
