nipple shield sizing help!

I could never get ds to latch, not even once, I was in the hospital for five days with eclampsia and though the nurses would try and help they were very over stretched and didn't have much time to spend with me.
I ended up pumping, which I hated.
Looking at a variety of things I think I have flat nipples, still not sure though! Anyway I just got some size 2 shields from mam because I have large boobs but the box says size 2 is for large nipples, do I need size ones?
So confused, help!
I know I might not need them, I just thought anything that could help is worth it

Do you have a breast pump? I use them and tried the larger ones as the medium ones were painful. I didn't think I'd need larger ones but apparently the shape they go when feeding is different to normal. What I'd do is use your pump to simulate feeding and then see when they're in that weird pulled out shape how wide they are. There are size guides for different shields to show you what size you need. If you're not sure get a few different sizes and just see what works for you.

Thanks, I do have my pump from last time somewhere I'll give it a go when I'm closer to due date. Think I'll have to try the ones I have and go from there too!
