No drinking for me this christmas :-(

Just when I thought I was moving forward 2 weeks after my D&C, Bang another blow.

Went to the doctors today as av got an irony smell and slight pinky watery discharge coming from down below.
He gave me an internal and swabs and its confirmed, I have an infection from the D&C, so now am on strong dose antibiotics

Just when I though I could have a few drinks over christmas

How much can we go though in one year!!!

Anyway I did av a little bit of good news the doctor has refered me to Gynaecology Unit at hospital on the 12th Jan to see why I keep having problems with pregnancy , so hopefully they might do a few tests.

ps, i do know drinking while unwell, or on medication is very frowned upon but seeing as i like my vino i always ask..even after my d&c in February this year (i know, i have no shame) i asked the aneasthesiologist if i could have a wee drink when i came home ..i was feeling like crap so i felt i needed a glass to cheer me up ( he wasnt condoning it but said ok, i could). Anywhoo..the reason im saying this is for you to double check with the doctor or even check on the web as most antibioitics in this day and age do not stop working etc (like they used to in the past) if you have a small amount of acohol. There are some i know, you will feel wretched on if you do..so wont be worth it and this may be the one you are on..but i thought it worth while to mention as i cannot bear the thought of you not getting a little tipple to ring in the faboulous year that 2009 will be for us! I was just about to say exactly what OMI said (Naomi, are you sure you aren't my long lost sister? ) - that there aren't that many antibiotics nowadays that totally contra-indicate drinking. So def worth checking....you may well be able to enjoy at least a glass or towo....even if you can't get good and proper drunkety drunk

Hope you do feel better soon sweetie....what a pile of rubbish to end up with an infection after all you've been through xx

Omi the doctor was so gutted he had to give antibiotics at christmas he really wanted to give me the ones your talking about but because I have a reaction to penicilin they cant give them, so am afraid that am taking the one were they make you feel really ill if you mix with alcohol

Thank you so much for trying to help me get drunk, I really really wish I could but I only need to take them for 10 days so I will make up for it in the new year, and boy what a Great New Year us lovely ladies are going to have, we all deserve some luck so next year is going to be our year
