No longer puts things on his mouth?

It really weird but recently my LO has stopped putting things in his mouth...he won't even put the teething rings in his mouth, he uses them as rattles...is this normal as they get older?

I would assume that this would be the normal progression, my Lo now looks at stuff for a bit and then put it in his mouth, before it'll go straight in his mouth without him even looking at it.

Riley has never been one to put things in his mouth not even food he just wants to play with it and crumbleit all over my floor lol

Max is the same he now likes to use them as rattles and tap them on the floor or where ever he may find fun lol
