Does anybodys elses baby refuse point blank to drink any milk?? Ive done a thread in the past about milk drinking as LO has never been a great drinker, ive always struggled getting milk into her really :(

As of about 2weeks ago, her milk intake is practically nothing! On random nights she has woken and drank a 7/8oz bottle, but this is in the middle of the night whereas previously she has slept through? She will noway entertain a bottle during the day :(

Ive tried everything I can think of - different temps of milk, different teats, in a sippy cup (which she sips then throws when she realises its not water in there, which she is really good at drinking) small amounts of milk rather than large amounts to drink at once, different formula.......im running out of ideas :( shes happy in herself and has no signs of teething, illness etc.

HV's etc just keep saying to make sure she eats plenty of dairy stuff etc (which now I feel like im feeding her same things all the time)

I feel like im worrying all the time about the nutrients etc she will be missing out from her milk, and constantly thinking what to give her to eat to try and replace! I start back at work Monday too and know this is all im going to be thinking about :(

Any ideas ladies?
xx

I know you're not really supposed to before 12 months, but what about doing half formula and half cow's milk? Other than that, I would keep giving dairy. Even BF'd babies have nursing strikes. You could also cut back her solids.

Thanks! yeah, a few friends have suggested to try cows milk, I may have to if nothing else works

I have tried cutting back her solids before which resulted in a very unhappy baby who still refused her milk :dohh:

Could your LO possibly be teething? My sons appetite went down ALOT before his tooth cut through for a week.
You could also try what ozzie suggested :hugs:

Oh, I would also look at vitamin drops as she might not be getting all the nutrients she needs without the formula.

I thought babies under 12 months couldn't digest cows milk properly? I'd recommend seeing a paediatrician, perhaps asking about prescription formula too. Good luck!

If it helps my LO has been an awful milk drinker for yonks, however I switched him over to cows milk at 11 months and he now loves the stuff..He drinks enough now that I don't really give him diluted juice anymore to keep him hydrated.

Smoothies and milkshakes made with fresh fruit and either formula/cows milk are an option to get some dairy in there, plus it's a good dose of fruit in one go
