Well i'm due today... no period and no signs of one either?
But only slight hitch is... im skiing in feb??? xx

Should women ski when pregnant?? would you?

I don't know much about skiing. If your period is due then you could test. I would say it's up to you feeling comfortable with it or not.

I don't know that much about skiing either, but I can't see why there should be an issue as long as you don't overdo it. If you are pregnant, you won't be showing by then so I don't think your size would be an issue; though how you may be feeling could be!

You should take a test. :)

Keep us updated!

Well, if your period is just due today, you really don't know that you're pregnant yet, when you're a teenager it can be funny sometimes - off by a day or so. Even if it isn't normally, it could be this time because of stress, etc. So I would say test before you tell anyone or start to worry too much about things like that!

I think you should be alright to ski in February if you're only about a month pregnant. The baby is still really small at that point in comparison to your body which is protecting it, if you fall, etc. it's going to be YOU hurting not the baby, those are my thoughts anyway.. if you don't have any reason to believe your pregnancy is high risk I would say go.. but if you've been to the doctor by the time you go skiing just ask your doctor, midwife, whatever, and they'll be able to give you professional advice on it.

I wouldn't go skiing... I know snowboarding is out during pregnancy and I wouldnt think skiing is any different really. Of course you need to find out for sure if you are pregnant or not first before you make that decision. Plus if you are you should have a doctors appt before you go and can ask them there. Take a test and keep us updated. Just not having a period does not mean you are pregnant hun.

Found this:

Is it okay to go skiing when I am pregnant?

There are several issues to think of when deciding whether to ski when you are pregnant.

The first concern is a physical risk to the baby through falling. While the uterus is generally a safe and protective environment for your baby, a sudden impact on the uterine area can cause fetal damage or even miscarriage. This is less of a risk in early pregnancy, but can certainly be an issue as your baby becomes bigger. Additionally, falling can become more common during pregnancy due to shifting weight and balance issues.

Second, it is important to think about the risk of fatigue. Many women are more prone to fatigue during pregnancy, and skiing is a physically demanding sport.

Finally, from about the seventh month, skiing is physically difficult. In late pregnancy it is also potentially dangerous as it could induce premature labor. The best time is 12-28 weeks. Try not to fall heavily; avoid high speeds, crowded pistes and high altitudes.

Women who have had previous miscarriages should not ski. Pregnant women are at increased risk of leg vein thrombosis during prolonged periods of immobility, so make sure you move your legs and feet while in the airplane or car and keep well hydrated.

If you do choose to ski during pregnancy, here’s how to help make your experience safer. Assess your ability level. Anyone can have an accident, but less experienced skiers tend to fall more often.

- Ski below your ability level, and stick to groomed runs.
- Ski when the conditions are good, not when the snow is icy, slushy or heavy.
- Ski midweek, when there are fewer skiers on the mountain.
- If you’re traveling from sea level, stay for a week rather than a weekend. Don’t over-exert yourself in the first two days, and drink plenty of water.
- Be extra careful, and take breaks often.
- If you’ve had previous miscarriages or premature laboring a previous pregnancy or you experience health problems like high blood pressure, bleeding or symptoms of premature labor, doctors say you should stay off skis altogether.

As always, you should consult your own physician before making the decision to engage in any sport while pregnant.

PS, only way you're gonna find out is if you test, if you're late today then you can test right now!

Lol I hope i don't sound rude, but i do no that not having a period doesn't automatically mean i am pregnant, i a gather that i need to test, which i will, this evening with my Oh and so i will no for sure, but i just thought i'd get some info on it and seeing as this subject seems not to have been approahed yet, i thought it would be a useful thing to talk about. Thanks for all advice tho! xx

Hope you get the result yu want!

P.S. I think the girls just wanted to tell you that you might have nothing to worry about.

I am such a worrier!! I cant believe how easily i worry about things now, compared to being so laid back when i was younger.... its i suppose i need my safety net, my minute by minute plan of what happens next!! lol SO need to chill out! xxx

in that early pregnancy I'd go skiing - wouldn't do anything that I know I'd possibly fall or hurt myself, but regular skiing I'd do while there was no bump.

I'd say if you ski anything like me stay away from those hills! LOL I had the most ridiculous wipe outs, people were laughing at me haha

personally if i i knew i was pregnant i would not wanna be going skiing, but then that is personal choice, i just wouldn't want to risk it. i suppose it depends how good you are but even experienced skiiers can fall.

hope all works out for you
