Hoping someone may have had a similar experience and assure me it's ok! My ds was born in hospital where they provided small ready made bottles of the formula of your choice, Cow & Gate in our case. So he's been on that since birth, we brought him home at about 40hrs old and have given him 5 feeds on powdered formula and he's yet to poop since we I changed him at the hospital at 2pm yesterday. His poop up to then was the meconium type except the last one which was starting to go the thick green type. Like I said no poop since then but his nappies have been wetter than they were in hospital. He's also taking more in his feed than he did in hospital, 50-50mls now compared to 30-40.

Has anyone done this and noticed it before? I think that maybe the ready made was more filling for him even though it's the same brand? My midwife is coming to visit today now we're home so I'll ask her about it but I was wondering if any other new mums had experienced this?

That sounds fairly normal to be honest so I wouldn't worry too much. I was BF at the time but my daughter didn't poo for 4 days the week after she was born. It just happens sometimes and probably has more to do with the formula in general, which can cause constipation, rather than the type. I'd just give it a few more days and see how things go. If it seems to be causing a lot of discomfort, maybe try changing brands and see if your LO responds better to something else.
