Im starting to get really worried about my son. He has just turned 10 months and he is showing no signs of crawling, he rolls and can roll from front to back and back again and can roll to wherever he want to go but just doesn't seem interested in crawling, im so worried  Is there something wrong with him?

He also has no teeth yet, he has had all the signs of teething for months, lots of drool and chewing on things but just no teeth.

Really need a bit of reassurance.

No! All babies are different! Dd has all her teeth at 16 months, 8 of them came at 8 months and she was crawling by 6, walking by 11. Ds on the other hand only started crawling about 6 weeks ago, and got 2 bottom teeth last month and top 2 poked thru today!

If he is active and rolling then its only a matter of time he will be quizzing round before u know it!!!

Jordan just started army crawling last week. She isn't doing hands and knees crawling yet. She has teeth, but one of my daycare girls didn't get any teeth until after 15 months. Then they all came at once. Some are early teethers, and some are late.

If he is rolling to get places then he is mobile and won't necessarily have the motivation to crawl. Jordan wasn't being mobile by rolling, just would roll once.

All babies are different and some skip crawling all together!

My niece's daughter rolled everywhere and up and walked at 10 or so months old.

And plenty of kids are late teethers :)

Rhys is coming up on 9 months and not a tooth in sight

My 8m old has no teeth and isn't even rolling (much)! He can roll, just doesn't like to lol...and no crawling either...he's a lazy little thing! lol
I wouldn't worry! They all do their thing in their own time :)

I started getting teeth at 11mths and was a late crawler and walker. Now at the ripe old age of 29 I have no fillings and I'm quite good at speed walking. :D

Worry not about either of these things. HV don't even really ask about crawling now as so many babies find other ways to move. I see that your baby has a walker (we have the same one!). There's a very good chance that they won't feel the need to explore through crawling when the walker gives then the independence they need. My mum swears I was a late walker because I could run in the baby walker!

I never crawled, only rolled, and didn't walk till 18 months. I went on to do ballet all the way to Advanced grade so it didn't affect my coordination. :flower:

My LO will be 11 months in a little over a week and still isn't remotely close to crawling. I'm pretty sure at this point that she'll probably just skip crawling and go straight to walking.

Still, I know how frustrating it can be when people constantly ask you, "Is he/she crawling yet?" :growlmad:

Normal! My neice rolled every where up the age of 11 months! She was quite happy rolling (and was quite good at it!) Then one day she just crawled and at 15 months she walked. They are all different, don't worry!

Don't worry! I rolled for months and skipped crawling altogether before finally walking at 16 months, and one of my friend's babies didn't get any teeth until she was 12 months-old, and then she got a bunch all at once. I sometimes think the milestones we're told our babies are supposed to be meeting do more harm than good, as babies really do things at their own rate and for the most part are perfectly fine no matter how "late" they crawl/walk/talk/clap/whatever.

Aiden isn't crawling yet either. He log rolls around the room to get to where he wants to go and I'm starting to think he may not crawl at all. He just had the first tooth break the skin even though there wasn't any sign of it even a few days ago so it can happen overnight. Everyone develops differently :)

I know you've gotten plenty of responses already, but chiming in. Michaela didn't show a lick of interest in crawling until she was just about 11 months old, started crawling 2 weeks before her first birthday, cut her first teeth just before her birthday, started walking at 14 months and still only has 4 teeth cut. Looks like she'll have another 3/4 come thru pretty soon though.

So I say NORMAL. No worries mama!

My cousin never crawled, he was a bum shuffler. Mine never rolled all over the place but he was crawling at 9.5 months. Cousin had his 1st tooth at 11 months mine had his 1 week after his 1st birthday. Sounds normal Hun. Both kids are 3 now, they have all their teeth & they don't have any developmental issues xxx

Neither my brother or I crawled. Both went straight to walking. We didnt get teeth til 9 months. My LO got her first tooth at 3 months and had 8 by 5 and a half months. She crawls too. She is soooo different from what i was xx

10 months next week - no teeth, no sign at all of wanting to crawl - at least I make nice fodder for insecure competitive mummies to make their babies look good in comparison. She's channelled her energy into other areas of development - her speech is incredibly advanced for her age (we have the odd word being used in the correct context) - she's just going to get everyone to gopher for her so she doesn't have to get stuff herself.

Plus we have rugs down - she's worked out she doesn't need to crawl cos if she pulls the rug the stuff she wants comes to her anyway.

Thank you all so much for your reply's. Feel more reassured now. It really is amazing the difference in different babies developments. Guess im just being a bit impatient! Just sick of people coming up to me and asking for a development report - is he crawling? where's his teeth? what's he eating? blah, blah, blah!

Thanks again ladies! :flower: x
