Norethisterone to induce period how much longer?

I was just wondering if anyone has been prescribed norethisterone to induce a period. I'm currently cd50 and been on norethisterone for 5 days. I've been told to take it for 10 days and should have a period 3 days later but I have period pains and the tablets have made me feel dreadful. I feel extremely low in my mood, no energy and walking around at work like I've been up all night drinking and have a head like a bear snapping at everyone.

I'm just wondering if I stop taking the tablets if it will be enough to bring on a period? I dont think I can last 5 more days.
