I've had 3 miscarriages (and I have a healthy 2 year old who I had after my first mc). My most recent miscarriage ended at 10 weeks and the other two at 5 weeks. I am five weeks pregnant today. My doctor has me on baby aspirin and suggested I try Crinone 8%. I asked her if I could have my progesterone levels checked before I made my decision (I am one to avoid drugs while pregnant unless absolutely necessary). My results from Friday when I was 4w4 days pregnant were hcg 620 and progesterone 15.3. She says that's on the low side for progesterone but my hcg was doing well (I was at 216 2 days prior). I can't find any reliable information about the normal range of progesterone levels in early pregnancy online. I need to decide whether to take the Crinone or not and it is an agonizing decision. I was hoping maybe some of you could offer some numbers or advice.
Thanks for reading!

My doctor told me he would start me on Crinone. He said it wouldn't hurt anything if it wasn't needed. (I had a stillborn, then 2 MC in a row.) I'm pregnant now and my temp was getting too low this weekend (before I could get in to the doctor), so I had to find some OTC cream. I went today, but the pharmacy said no one in this area has it in stock, so I'll have to wait until tomorrow. I'm using the OTC until then.

Crinone is natural progesterone, not a fake progestin like they put in birth control pills, so your body is already flooded with it. You would just get a higher level of what your body is already producing, not an artificial hormone or drug.
