Hello ladies... this is my second baby. Noah only weighed 4.10lb when born so i actually lost weight when pregnant and he had all the extra nutrients..

I started at my first pregnancy at 60kg... With this one i started at 55kg. Im now 24 weeks and weigh 60.5kg thats 11lb gain so far..

Is this normal because im eating more this one so hopefully she will be bigger..

How much has everyone put on so far?

xxx

I think every women is different but i've gained 18 lbs with my pregnancy and i'm 25 weeks. I try to watch but i'm still gaining about 2 lbs a week. My doctor told me to watch but i'm not eating like a crazy person. I'm just gaining. As long as my baby is healthy then thats all that matters to me.

That sounds just right. I'm not sure how weight gain relates to baby size though, although at 24 weeks baby will only weigh about 1lb so won't make a big difference. I'd imagine weight gain towards the end would be more of an indicator where they gain around half a pound a week usually.

I'm 22 weeks and I've gained 12lb xx

I am 24 weeks and have gained 18lbs, doc didn't seem concerned :)

I think the "goal" is to gain somewhere between 25-35lbs over the course of your pregnancy if you started at a healthy normal weight (not overweight or underweight). Of course this varies person to person, and when it is gained also varies. I have friends who gain 10 lbs in their 1st trimester and slowly steadily gain after that. I, usually only gain 2 or 3 lbs in first tri, the majority of my weight in 2nd tri, and even off in the third. At least that was the case with my first baby, and this one seems to be following suit so far. I gained 27lbs total last time and he was born just under 7lbs. he was 2 weeks early though, so probably would have gained at least 30 if he had been on time:)

this is my first and i've gained 12lbs so far, all seems well with baby so far. i think it varies woman to woman on weight gain.

people say i look small for 6 months but baby was measured at 20 weeks and was a good average size so im not worried.

does weigh gain and baby size correlate to each other? more you gain - heavier baby?

I'm 25 weeks and have gained 9.5lb. I gained about 3.5 stone with my last pregnancy but baby was only 6lb13. I think I was carrying lots of water as I lost 2 stone pretty much straight away after the birth. I was very poofy at the end!

Hey Hun. My daughter was only 5lbs at birth (born naturally at 37 1/2 weeks). Like you I'm not very good at putting on weight when pregnant. I'm 22 1/2 weeks and so far I have put on 2 lbs. I'm a little heavier than you (67kg and 5 foot 6), but my metabolism just seems to speed up a good bit when I'm pregnant, as I am definitely eating enough good food, plus a normal dose of junky foods too, but just can't seem to keep weight on me, despite my best efforts - I can see my face and torso are starting to get thinner looking, so I'm definitely losing weight off me, but they assure me all is progressing as it should be at present based on scans. I know for sure if i was eating this much normally i would be steadily putting on weight. Not sure that helps any, just felt like we are quite similar!

I'm 24 weeks with my first and I've gained around 14 lbs.

I'm still down 1/2lb at 20 weeks and told to fatten up. I'm having twins and was told to gain 30lbs. She told me to lay down more and eat more to put on weight.

this is my second and i started out at 55kg too. im 5"8. i now weigh 62kg, so 7kg gain. i swear most of it is boob and baby tho lol. i got meausred at 25 wks on monday and i was measuring 23wks. My eating habits havnt really changed much so im assuming it is all pregnancy weight gain apposed to me eating too much xx

I was skinny skinny when I got preggo with my first was VERY active and ate well and I still gained 52 lbs ... This time I haven't changes my excercise or eating habits hardly at all and I've gained 27lbs so far so I suppose I'm right on schedule with my last pregnancy ... My dr isn't worried at all since I'm all belly ... My mom gained between 55 and 70lbs with each of her pregnancies neither of us are very big girls

I started at 135 lbs(5'8") and gained 16 lbs with DS1 and he was 6 lbs 14.9oz. With DS2 I started at 125 lbs and gained 26 lbs and he was 5 lbs 14 oz. I had a ton of fluid with him, but with both pregnancies I ended at 151 lbs. I started at 117 lbs and I've gained 4 lbs so far. I figure I'll gain what I need to. I eat when I'm hungry and keep it healthy, with the occasional indulgence. My dr isn't concerned with my weight gain or lack of as long as the baby and I are healthy(we are), which is the way to look at it.

Wow. I'm jealous! I've gained 23 so far, and I was overweight to begin with! I'm counting calories now though so I can slow down on the weight gain. I'm allowing for 1/2 pound gain a week so about 2090 cals per day. That's only because I'm about at my limit of what I was told to gain. That said, my mom gained 80 pounds with me and I was 8 lb 6 oz and over a week overdue. There's not always a correlation between the mom's weight gain and the baby's weight.

I've only gained 1 lb so far, but I was overweight when I got pregnant. Baby is measuring right on track :)

I've gained 12lbs but I was heavy to begin with 73.5kg now I'm 79kg, the heaviest I've ever been in my life tbh :( I'm trying really hard not to get down about it or worry but I could eat much better, especially in the evenings. DH goes to bed early and then I snack  I am really going to try and watch it now though as keep thinking I have 16 weeks left and worried I'll be massive by the end :nope:
