I think I have thrush again... Or it just never went in the first place. Why is bfing being made so damn hard for me? My nipples still hurt even though she's on right, now the thrush is flaring up again.
And Savannah won't open her mouth when she's hungry, I have to open it with my breast for her. It's really annoying!

Sorry, turned into a general rant about bfing... Having a bad time with it atm

Can either be vaginal or oral yeast infection, when bfing mums get it (oral that is), it will be on their nipples and the babies mouth. It's extremely painful, and very hard to get rid of as it's contagious. The mum and baby both need to be treated, and if one still has it then it'll just keep getting passed between.

Bottle fed babies can get it too. Especially if their bottles aren't well cleaned; or if you wash bottles with other dishes (in dirty dish water, or in dishwasher with other dirty dishes).

Ive had it in my Foo twice since getting PG 2nd time I made sure HE was treated too. It was annoying there so I hate to think what its like on my BBs

It feels different on the breasts, got so bad the water from the shower stung them! Not as bad this time tho

Hiya hun,
If its any consolation i think i have thrush too and im having a really tough time with the feeding and have done since birth.
First of all Harry was tongue tied when born and we only got it cut a week ago so up to then he was latching on with his gums and gnawing the milk out.... OUCH!!
I blistered on my nipples and this turned to bleeding which turned to scabs and its only just all healed.
Harry is the same as your LO, he wont open his mouth properly so most feeds he latches on by sucking my nipple in like spaghetti!

Im hoping that it will get better but im not holding my breath!!

I know this post hasnt really helped but i thought i would let you know there is another ranting mummy feeling the same!!

Oh no.. didn't mean to sound like I was saying you meant that. I just have a friend whose baby kept getting it and she was bottle fed, so figured I would post. I didn't know BF mothers could get it. Colton's never had it, so dont know too much about it, besides that bottlefed babies get it through dirty water/washing in dishwasher with other dishes.
