I've posted quite a bit about the nurse who called us telling us bubs isn't eating enough or gaining enough weight. She put me into a frenzy, so I made an appointment with the dr. We went today and he's perfectly fine!! The dr is blaming it on too many scales, not enough consistency with measuring him. He wants him to be the only one to weigh him so it stays consistent, which makes total sense. He wasn't happy that the nurse called telling us those things and then not helping us deal with them, especially when he's eating and growing fine. He also said that it didn't matter how much or how often he feeds because he's growing! If he eats less that's fine, because he's growing!

A big relief. We're back in 10 days to check weight again. He'll be 3 weeks at that time. So far, he's 12 days old and already passed his birth weight by 5 ounces today, so passed it days ago I'm assuming.

That's fantastic that you've had some reassurance :hugs:

It's terrible that you were put through so much stress and worry when the methodology of the nurse was so awful! Glad to hear you won't be seeing her again

that's great that he's above his birth weight at 12 days, they say they expect a baby to get back to birth weight by 14 days, so it sounds like your hv is talking out of her bottom ;)
thank goodness for a good doctor!
xx

It was such a releif to see he's gaining as he is. The nurse had me in such a frenzy. Funny enough now, he's been eating like a monster the past couple days! I'm sure he's super giant baby now anyways!
