I suffer from Hyperemesis, and it's got to the point where I'm seriously considering not eating at all. Food just makes me feel worse - is there any vitamins I can take instead of eating?
I really sympathise with you. I haven't been diagnosed with HG so let's say I have sever morning sickness.
I am barely gettng throught the day on bites of cheese and chicken (and most of that is coming up) I have tried vitamins and swallowing them make me retch & be sick.
It's awful isn't it I have been on two different types on anti sickness medicine - they weren't working, so my doctor sent me to hospital to go on the drip, and they wouldn't put me on a drip :O Hospital said having ketones in my urine is fine and I was bound to have them because I was being sick!
I am now on two lots of anti sickness tablets, but I can't really tell if they work or not as I have good days and bad days. On a good day I am sick 4/5 times, on a bad day 10+ times.
I didn't think I was keeping any fluid down, but I had a blood test to check if I was dehydrated and it came back fine so I must be! I can only keep sips of water down though.
Are you able to keep water down? I wish there was a magical cure!
Sounds very similar to me. I have had ketones in my urine but because they go up and down they won't drip me but I also have a high white blood cell count which i'm trying to take antibiotics for. On my third lot now and still feel like c**p.
On good days I can get 2-3 glasses down and on a bad day I hardly get out of bed.
Only thing that ever owrked for me was chewing sugar free gum. I have a 1hr school run every day, and without it I couldn't have done it. Worth a try, if you haven't already ladies Chew on getting out of bed x
Oooh! I'll give the gum a go - thank you!! I keep loosing weight then putting it back on again then loosing it - but I haven't gained anything yet. How about you? x
