Hello ladies! It has been a long time since I made a post on here. I made many posts on the miscarriage support page after having three losses due to a chromosome abnormalities. I am very happy to say after adopting my little girl in January, I am now 16 weeks pregnant with my rainbow BOY who was very much a surprise!

Anyway, my reason for posting is I am having an incredibly difficult time locating my baby's heart beat on my at home doppler. I can find my heart beat, and the placenta but I have yet to pick up that little gallop on my own. I had an appointment two weeks ago today and it took the nurse two dopplers and about 10-15 minutes (which felt like hours!) To find baby's heart beat. I'm not thin by any means, so I'm thinking this may have something to do with it. Or possibly location of the placenta. But I'd love to hear that reassuring sound! Does anyone have any tips for me, or a similar experience? I'm trying not to get too worked up about it, but it'd be great to put my mind to ease!

Congratulations on your pregnancy!! How wonderful :)

Are you sure you're putting the doppler low down enough? I'm 15+3 and my baby's HB can only be found really low down, not much higher than where I found it at 10 weeks! I thought for sure it would be higher up by now. I know everyone (and every baby) is different but they're still very small at this stage. I don't know what else to suggest! I'm sorry you're having such a hard time finding it :(

Hi Hun same as above try really low below your knicker line x

Many congratulations :) I would agree with hoping4four make sure it is low enough, in still surprised how low I find babies. I know it's easy but please try not to get stressed. I have sometimes tried for 30-45 minutes as they can wriggle out the way and it can be so difficult to find. Good luck, I hope you find it soon xxx

I wouldn't worry about it. At 16 weeks, my doctor still had to break out an US machine to find my baby's heartbeat.

Thanks so much for those who suggested trying lower! I tried not far above my pubic bone and found it almost immediately! Oh, what a beautiful sound! :D
