So I was told that I would be given Clomid yesterday. Well my doctor was not there, so I had to see her partner. She told me that she wanted me to wait 2 more months!!! OMG! That will put our TTC to 20 months! She also uped my dose of Metformin from 1000mg a day to 2000mg. I am not diabetic, not even borderline, just a little high. My mom is a diabetic and she only takes 1000. I just was overall not satisfied with everything she told me. Encouragement?
Oh and it is depressing to think that BEST case scenario I MAY have a baby in a year!!!! WTF. I have waited long enough :(

I try to think of it like this, a year is better than never? :hugs: I know how much it can hurt some days though and I'm sorry your doctor wasn't there. Could you not make an appointment with your doctor?

Well it is the only ob/gyn office in town, so I could have.... next month. The worst thing is... I was given birth control 2 months ago. She said "take the birth control, get your hormones straightened out, come back in 2 months and we will start Clomid" Well I did all that, but was told to take it for 2 more months. That is 4 wasted months :(

i dont really understand why they would give you birth control and then clomid

i understand brith control can regulate your cycles but only if you aren't actively trying

surely they should be trying to regulate your horomones with other things than birth control

i would certainly be going bk and demandin answers

Yeah, I don't think you should take birth control either x

She said that I couldn't start Clomid without having a period first (duh), so that's why she is keeping me on it. However, Provera can also induce a period. AND I have seen on here where a lot of people became regular by just taking Metformin and got pregnant, well I don't even have a chance of that happening because of the birth control.
I think I would be ok with it, IF I wasn't taking the birth control and we actually had a chance to conceive.

yeah i understand that, like i said you should go back to the doc and ask them to try something eslse because this is obviously not working for you

Well my husband pointed something out to me  I am also taking Spironolactone (?), which can cause bith defects, but I need it to control my Testosterone (?). I can only take it if I am on birth control, and I need it at the moment. Sorry for the breakdown.

Sheilarae.....If i can ad a little info, My doc put my on the bcp to give my Ovries a chance to "rest" so that they did not work so hard. She told me that b/c of the way my PCOS effects them that the BCP allows them a chance to rest b4 doing the clomid so that i could get a better quality of eggs so to speak. they put me on my clomid after taking the BCP for 25 days, my cycle started right after the 25 days and then i did the clomid from cd 2 to 6....and then they did an ultra sound to see how the folicials were doing. I had to also up my metfm....from 1000 to 1500 as well. With me being on the bcp it kept my cycle where it needed to be to make it easier to tell when i was going to be ready to get my shot to o. Hope that helps some. I just did my shot last wed, so i am still in my 2ww. Good luck
