So, I live in washington and there's a program here called Running Start where high school juniors and seniors can attend the community college for free and graduate with a diploma and an associate's degree. I started the program when I found out I was pregnant, and the classes are really cool... However, I'm soo unmotivated to go to school every day and I feel like I can't focus on anything but my little guy moving around and all the things I need to do to prepare for his arrival! I'm considering starting online school because I really want to finish high school, but I feel like all I want to do is hang out, do art and think about my baby. I want to nest and make things and get cozy and ready to settle down with my OH and baby. Is this normal or am I just avoiding school work? I feel like this is a natural feeling for a first time mama, but I'm not completely sure.

Anybody else had trouble with school?

I dropped out.
Worst mistake ever.
I'm dying to go back now because I know I have to. But I was just too depressed to go anymore and I only wated to focus on LO too, so I know how you feel.
Its not that I was just lazy and didn't want school but I saw LO having a mummy who wasn't completely stressed out far more important than anything.
I would just do any thing that will keep you working towards your diploma, just don't give up on school completely. ( I know you didn't mention dropping out but I never thought I would either! )

Im a sophomore and im gonna graduate january of my senior year. so i definately know how your feeling because my baby girl moves around all day and with all my friends rubbing my tummy and saying things just makes me think about her more and more. School gets really stressful and i dont want to be their alot i always doodle and plan for the baby and never pay attention but then i realize if i really want my baby to be happy, proud of me i have to finish school. i try to do most things on weekends and after school. im happy i have alot of support from my friends and stuff they constantly encourage me to continue. it doesnt matter which way you finish as long as you finish. But i would stay in shcool, its hard but youve got to do it for your little boy:)

I never had a good time at school so I left at the beginning of year 10. I don't feel like any less of a person because of it or like I missed out, in fact I wouldn't have wanted my life to turn out any other way. I started growing as a person and gaining confidence :) but everyone wants different things from life, so just do what you feel will benefit your life the most.

Well, I'm dropping two classes tomorrow and so I'll only have one afternoon class mon-thurs and that's it for this quarter. Next quarter I'm starting online school which I think will be better for me, especially since I'm going to be working here and there for the next month or so, and then baby will be here and I'll have to be focused on him.

I want to be successful and make my baby proud... plus nobody in my family has ever not finished high school . I know it's stupid but I'd feel like a total failiure in my family's eyes (i pretty much already am to my grandparents) if I didn't finish. Other than my mom, of course because she supports me no matter what... I mean I know I'll finish and do great things no matter what but it's really hard.
My OH dropped out at the end of his senior year to work because his family couldn't support themselves with only his mom working and his dad gone, so he really wants me to at least finish high school, so I feel like I have a lot of people counting on me.

I was out of school when I got pregnant, but I'd try stick at it while you can!

I will now have to go to college and do one thing a year, it will be easier pregnant than with a baby! Get as much done as you can while you still have the free time :)

Just remember it doesnt matter how you finish just as long as you finish for you and the babys sake:) do whats easiest for you to deal with to much school can be overwhelming only take on what you can personally i would do online classes to but its whatever is easiest for you:)
