Hi ladies!
A close friend found out that her eggs were not maturing.
She was put on clomid in the hopes that it would help.
It hasn't and it's been confirmed she is not ovulating.
They have upped her dosage.
Anyone got any experience of this?
She's so down. My heart goes out to her.
I battled the awful word that is infertile myself so I understand her but I want to do more for her!

Hopefully at a higher dose, she will ovulate. If not then ask the doctor about something else that might help. Femara is supposed to help you ovulate, no experience in this. I research a lot, and on the internet you never know what is accurate. If clomid doesnt work then femara is the next drug to go to, usually with good results. Lots of women (or so I researched) have great success with femara, but not Clomid. Look it up and good luck.

Hi,

I have tried clomid way back in 2002 when ttc #1. It did not work for me, even with higher dose. I hope it won't be the case, but unfortunately, sometimes it doesn't work for some people. The good news is that I became pregnant naturally after 3 failed clomid cycles. Sometimes when we stop the treatment, the body start working on its own.

This time I am ttc #3. It's been 3 years now. I have tried clomid last cycle, but after a scan on cd11, it showed that even though my dollicles growed more than on natural cycles, it was not enough, so my doctor had me on fsh injections (I needed 3 of those) and then triggered with hcg. I had 2 eggies, but ended up having a chemical.
So topping up with injectables is another option for your friens. Hope she wont have to and clomid will work.

Thanks so much for your experience.
I did say to her to relax but I know how annoying that can be when people say that.
Best of luck ttc no 3.

I failed Clomid completely. That was somewhere around four years ago. So far nothing else has worked either.

Tamoxifen is another oral option, and there are lots of injectable medications. The odds of multiples are much better on injectables, however.
