Hi girls

Last Thursday I switched from BF to FF and feel miles happier in myself - long story but I had to do it and now Emma seems happier too - and hungrier!

I'm not sure if it's a coincidence but she now feeds every 2 1/2 - 3 hrs whereas when she was BF we could go 4 hrs easily and often I would have to wake her! The problem is that now she's having half a bottle (5oz) - then an hour later she wants the other half - do-able in the day but not so at night. The past two nights have been terrible - we'll start giving her a bottle at 11pm and it'll roll onto 3.30am and she's still not asleep. She'll have her milk, we'll wind her, she'll be fast asleep - put her down in her moses basket and she screams! So we'll see if she wants some more milk - if she does, give her some, repeat the process........and the time just flies. It's so tiring and my poor OH is going to work like a zombie!

I'm trying to put her down straight after feeding and windng her in the day instead of holding her for a while after, in the hope this will help her to settle better at night. It doesn't seem to be. The only other thing I can think of is that she doesn't like her moses basket cos she's used to her playnest in the day - so I'm trying to put her in the moses basket in the day. Or - and this may sound daft - that she doesn't like the complete dark! The other day I'd settled her and as soon as I turned off the light, she screamed! Could be conincidence though.

Anyone have any advice?!!?

Hannah used to hate her moses basket and only place she would even consider sleeping is her pram so i ended up puttin her there durin the night just to get some sleep and she would sleep 8 hours.:happydance:
but with her bottles she is same as your lo during the day she is formula fed baby. she would take 2 oz fall asleep then wake half an hour to an hour later lookin for more. so its constant feedin with her.
hopefully things improve very soon for you x x

Thanks hun. My mum has had Emma today and I've got some sleep so feel a bit more human again - things always feel worse when you're tired don't they!!

It could be her digestive system getting used to the formula? After I switched Ruby from EBM to formula, she took a while to settle, but soon got used to it. I think formula is harder to digest than breastmilk.

Things def feel worse as they are when tired. And we all need that little bit of time off sometimes. as said above it is just her gettin used to formula. Take care x x
