This thread may seem a bit pathetic but Ill write it anyway :)

I work in a school in the nursery. I love my kids their fantastic but Im bored of the same mundane routine. The adults I work with annoy me aswell. The journey to and from work is becoming a hassel plus waking up so early when Ive had rubbish sleep. Basically I cant wait for maternity leave! Lol. The thing is the children. I hate saying goodbye. The thought of me going on maternity leave knowing im not coming back is going to be heartbreaking for me. I dont know how to do this. Plus Im unsure weither I want to come back anyway. I dont want to leave Noah with anyone I dont know and I know Im not going to want to leave him.

Should I take maternity leave with the intention of coming back so I dont have to say 'goodbye' to the kids plus I can see how I feel when Noah comes or just forget maternity leave and just leave my job saying bye and having no money. The money doesnt bother me really and I think im omly eligable for 26 weeks materity leave which is not a lot to me at all.

Bit of a funny thread but advice appreciated. Thanks xx

Ohhh hun I know how you feel. I am the manager or a pre-school and will start my maternity leave end of April.

I am going back as I only work 4 hours a day and my mum will have my LO for me. However I know that most of the children will not be there when I return in January :nope: I don't know how I am going to say bye, especially to my key children who I have had for 2 to 2 1/2 years

I guess with the maternity pay (not really sure how schools work) but if you don't return and your paid more that then statutory pay then you will be required to return to work for 6 months or so to pay this back. (This is what happens with my local authority anyway). However you might decide to return in which case you will not want to give notice.

If I could afford to be a SAHM I would be!! So if money isn't an issue then why don't you hand your notice in and leave, spend a few years at home with your LO and when the time is right find a new job.

All jobs have there pros and cons hun. Here your pros are the children but when you return after maternity it will be a new set of children so either way you need to say bye.
