Hi ladies,
I am just a day or two past 19 weeks pregnant with baby #2. I have felt a few little flutters, but I'm not even certain that it was baby.

With my son, I was 21ish weeks before I felt him. But everything I've read said that most people feel baby #2 much earlier.

I'm a big worrier anyway, but this is making me a tad more paranoid than normal! We have a gender scan on Monday, and I'm excited, but I'm also a bit nervous because of the lack of movement.

Can anyone relate? Do I have a reason to be so nervous, or am I getting all worked up over nothing?

Im only 16+6 And I've felt it here and there. I don't think it's anything to worry about. LO probably all snuggled in. Do you know if you have a anterior placenta? That could be why you don't feel movement.

Thanks for the reply! I am praying all is ok. I had an anterior placenta with DS, and the tech mentioned that at my first US with him. I've had 3 USs this time around, and an anterior placenta hasn't been mentioned, so I'm thinking if I had one again, they would have told me by now. Hopefully this is just a shy LO!

Oh yea I agree. But LO definitely sounds shy. Which means that when you start to feel LO you will feel LO with a vengeance lol.

They never 'told' me I had an anterior placenta. I just happened to see it one ultrasound report one day. My definite movements were around 20/21 weeks but this is my first baby too xx

This baby just doesn't move as much as my girls did. They was on the go all the time. I sometimes feel baby having a kick.. i'm sure baby is laying funny.. coz I hav a pain on the 1 side all day & wen I wake up baby is the shape of a moon that side lol xx

I guess every baby really is different

I just really hope that the scan tomorrow shows that all is well!!

Quick update--baby looks great! Measuring 5 days bigger than my dates, heart rate was 165, I DO have an anterior placenta after all, and it is a baby BOY! :)

That's a relief! Glad all went well. Got my scan tomoz & pooping it! :/ xx

Don't worry too much!! I didn't feel my son (first pregnancy) till I was about 22 weeks, and he never really moved THAT much to be honest... This time round I've felt the baby move a lot earlier and she is moving constantly.

I think it's just a mixture of where your placenta is, how much of a wiggler your baby is and how busy you are (when I am busy, I don't feel this baby move much, despite her being extremely active).

I worried a lot during my first pregnancy (I had no symptoms, then I couldn't feel him till what I considered 'late'; and especially when I was comparing to other pregnant ladies' stories I would feel like something had to be wrong.... But nothing was wrong! I had a super healthy son who was brilliant throughout a very long labour and scored top marks straight away on that APGAR score they do after birth! So just because you're not feeling your baby at 19 weeks, it doesn't mean that something's wrong :) Just try and relax, and come Monday you will see for yourself! ;) )

PS: there has been a massive increase in movement/ strength of movements for me between 19 weeks and 22 -just give it time :) x

EDIT: just saw your update: That's brilliant news!

Thanks notabebe! : )
It was a big relief to see him wiggling around on the US, and I have been feeling a bit of movement each day now. : )
