Alright I am not sure if what happened was a miscarriage. There is a long story about it so I will make it brief. I am on the patch for birth control, but since me and my boyfriend broke up 4 months ago I frequently forget to put it on when I am supposed to. I am still seeing him, but not formally like a significant other. During one of those times when I spaced putting the patch on, well you can guess. I ended my period about a week ago, but just a few days ago I had a heavy flow of brown and red blood, mainly brown. If it was miscarriage I wouldn't have been able to see really any sort of sign of the fetus because it wouldn't have been formed yet, it was only two or three weeks along, if I was pregnant. I know the period should give it away as just a random flow, but I keep hearing that it could have been M/C. Any advise on what it could have been?

Does anyone know? I know it would be hard to tell with just information, but any ideas whether it was or wasn't?

Alot of mc go un detected because ppl put it off as a period. So I don't know if its possible in your situation, brown blood could also be old blood. So a dr would probably tell you best if you had blood work done asap, but it may be to late for that. I'm curious as to why your anxious to know? Believe me its better to just keep it moving.

i had a m/c at 4 weeks 1 day. i was TTC with my fiance for 4 months so i knew when to test. i went to see the doctor and she said there wasnt anything they could do because the pregnancy was so early on. i had heavy bleeding and really bad cramps (i could hardly walk). and i passed many clots. they were all bright red. this lasted about a week. i was told i needed to go in for a follow up appointment for blood work, and they woman on the phone told me that 1 in 5 pregnancies end in m/c. (spontanious abortion i think is what its called... something like that) ANYWHO.

most women dont realize they are having a m/c because their "period" comes only a few days late, so they just think its a normal period. im not a doctor so i cant tell you what really happened... but thats my story and maybe you could compare your notes to mine. any other questions feel free to ask. :hugs:

I am going to a clinic sort of deal today to check and see what it really was. I am the answers type of person and I don't like wondering what it was. Whether it was or not I think it would be nice to know. Thank you

i dont think they will be able to tell you much of anything unless you have a sample of the clots that you passed so they can do a biopsy.

good luck though :hugs:

it also could just be your body reacting to the patch.. since you are off and on with it.. just an idea..

exactly what i was going to say.....if u take the pill the same way u have been using the patch u would prob get a random flow like that too as ur not putting a consistant hormone into ur system so ur body may get confused and have a flow, if u are using BC (birth control) u should use it exactly how it supposed to be used as u can get preg or mess up the system if u dnt, not having a go but if u and ur partner and not really a "real" couple anymore then maybe just stop the patch and use condoms?
it has got to be easier than a daily patch for no reason im sure, dnt think it was m/c though hun if anything a chemical pregnancy which people also often mistake as a m/c. just another thought? x good luck hun and try sort another method of contraception out that easier for you and safer x x x

i agree.. it is pointless to not be on b/c all the time.. either do it .. or dont.. just trying to help.. because getting pregant wont "help" things with you and your ex boyfriend.. sorry if that was harsh. Just trying to help. Get on the shot girl.. it's soo much easier! or an IUD.
