Hi, I'm fairly new to formula feeding. Transitioned my LO over to mostly formula feeding about 3 weeks ago (she still has breast for her middle of the night feed).

Lately, she seems to be taking very little in the mornings. Her last breast feed in normally around 6am but then she seems to struggle to take more than 4/5 oz before 1pm. She does have some breakfast but I always give her the bottle first but she's just not interested. In the afternoon she takes bottles as well as her lunch with no problem so I just don't know if its normal or not.

Has anyone else experienced this or do your babies drink the same amount of formula each time?

My lo only has a few small feeds but then clusters in the evening to make up for it. I worried until I realised she is taking a fair bit in the evenings x

Jordan takes less in her first bottle but then has a bottle a few hours later before her nap as well. I found when she was still having a bottle in the night she wasn't hungry at all in the am - she would only drink 1 oz for her first bottle.

Thanks, maybe it's that she's still having night feeds then. She is still gaining weight as expected so hopefully its not a problem that she has more in the afternoon/evening than the morning

My LO does this- she sleeps 7-10.30 and then 11 until anywhere between 5 and 7am, but if she wakes before 7 for a feed (I wake her then for school run every day) and goes back to sleep for a bit after she doesn't drink much at breakfast, though I always offer her a few oz at 7.30 xx

Erin wasn't a morning person food-wise for a good long while - the first bottle she's dropped going onto solids was her 10am one.

Jack does the same thing. He takes large feedings during the day but his first morning feed at 6 or so, he'll only take 2 oz. I also bf, so maybe he gets more from me at that time. So no, he does not eat the same amounts each time.
