Hi There

I just got my combined screening result back and it is 1 in 355 chance.

I know this is low risk but one of my best friends who happens to also be pregnant had it done one week before me, and hers came back 1 in 11,000!

I am 26 (will be 27 by EDD), I don't smoke and this is my first pregnancy.

Should I be worried?

It's a screen negative. You shouldn't be worried. Smoking and health have nothing to do with risk for trisomy disorders. They are not hereditary, apart from translocations -- rare, and not health related. If they occur they're a random event at conception.

I wouldn't worry your risk is still low as the cut off is 150 with my DS my result was 1500 but with this pregnancy it's 1 in 4300 which to me doesn't make sense as this is my 2nd pregnancy I'm high risk and high bmi

It's hard to know what makes the results come out as they do - my risk is much lower now than with my son despite me being 34 when the tests were done with him and 38 this time which had me expecting a high risk figure.

1:355 is definitely viewed a low risk (1:151 would be low risk) and so there really is no need to worry.

My risk came back at 1:200, I'm 40 and im not worried. Its a .5% chance and i'll take those odds especially as my age alone gave me a risk of 1:86-100 or something like that. With my daughter who i had at 31 it was a risk of 1:150 and she came out perfect. xx
