Hello,

I went for my 12 week scan and my Dr said she was 70% sure we are having a girl (after 2 boys so I'm obviously happy and shocked). Then I went back for my 16+4 week scan and she said now she is about 95% sure. I clearly saw a nub. It was pointing down in the side profile but I thought it would have changed into the girl parts by now? She said it was safe to buy girl clothes but keep the receipts just in case?!

How accurate do you think they are 16/17 weeks? I'm so desperate for a girl and now I have my hopes up. My next appt isn't for a few weeks and it's all I can think about.

Can anyone offer something helpful?

Thanks xx

If they were looking from a side profile from 16-17 weeks, if it was a boy they could probably clearly have seen a snail shape outline of a boys bits:) It could have been missed, stranger things have happened!, but if they were looking then it is likely they would have seen it:) Will you be having another scan soon??

Thanks or your reply. I have another scan on Tuesday and I'm so nervous about it. I have 2 boys already and I'm so hoping for a girl ( I now have my hopes up). We were told the boys were both boys at 12 weeks so this is the first time I've had to wait so long to find out. I saw a nub pointing down for sure at my last scan. Just not sure what it means...

At 16/17 weeks there no longer is a nub. At that gestation the genitals have fully developed.

congrats on your pregnancy! FX for :pink:
