Just looking for reviews really ont he NUK bottles. Have been looking at a few different ones and these seem to 'look' good. Its now a draw between these and the new Avent Natural ones.

I'm just a bit wary as it says the latex teats can cause allergic reactions. The SMA ready made bottles come with the latex teats so it can't be that common can it

Thanks :flower:

I like my Nuk bottles, but mine have silicone teats. My lo had bad colic and at around 6 weeks, I switched to the Nuk bottles (from Avent) and switched formula from Aptamil to Hipp Organic. His colic disappeared immediately, but I'm not sure which one was the main contributor.

I lucked out because I got my bottles for half price at Ocado. I just checked and they are no longer on offer. :(

These are the ones I have:

The flow is faster than the Avent bottles so it took him a few bottles to get used to it. Now that he is used to it, he finishes his bottles in half the time. He really likes the Nuk dummies too.

NUK stuff regularly goes on offer at ocado, like once a month or so. Also you can find their bottles on ebay for cheap sometimes too (brand new ones), I bought the glass bottles this time and they did come with latex teats but I bought the small feed hole silicone teats instead from another website. My babies would cough and splutter even on the newborn avent teats and they just seemed to be the wrong shape for them, and they'd also get a lot of wind. NUK are much better IMHO xx

Personally I can't recommend them highly enough.

Both my boys are tongue tied and couldn't latch on. They struggled with Avent bottles and were unable to finish a feed on them. Switched to NUK latex and their feeding has been brilliant since. It was NUK that was recommended to us by all the paediatric nurses when my boy was in scbu.

I order mine from NUK direct and their service has been fab.

No its nothing to do with the material they are made from :flower:. All NUK teats come in 3 feed hole sizes, though most of their bottles are sold with either medium or large feed hole teats. NUK teats have only one hole in where milk comes out of and it varies from small to large. The small feed hole is for breastmilk or water (though a few FF babies will need this one at first too), medium is generally best for formula and large feed hole for babies who like a faster flow or who are on thickened formulas, i.e. comfort formulas. In the latex teats the large feed hole is a cross cut. The small feed hole teats are very very tricky to get hold of but pharmacies may be able to order them in xx

Oh right lol. Yeah these ones have come with a medium size teat. I think they should be ok as ill be using formula. If not ill buy the small ones. Thanks :flower:

We use NUK bottles and have no problems. We love them and swear by them. They're made with silicone.

I don't know why, but these are the only bottles my breastfed baby will drink from. I have tried to feed him expressed milk/water in an Avent bottle but he wont take it. The NUK teats seem a much better shape than the Avent ones.

We only could get our daughter to take NUK after trying 6 kinds of bottles. I breastfeed and this is the only one she learned to take after introducing bottles. We therefore love them! Ours are also silicone though, not latex, as I have a latex allergy and don't know if LO does or not.

Didn't read any of the replies, but when I was expressing and now that i'm stictly formula (sometimes with rice cereal), I love them. they're open enough that i can mix the cereal in and he still can suck it out, but the air thing makes it so he doesn't get any unless he sucks, so he doesn't choke unless he gets overenthusiastic. Plus, if I fall asleep while feeding him (it has happened) and the bottle slips (which it does) it doesnt get all over either of us.

I LOVE THEM. Plus, they're adorable, sturdy, and dont have weird bends that are hard to clean.

nuk latex are the only bottles my bf baby will take - i think they are great.

i originally bought tommee tippee because they look like a boob plus all my friends use them but actually for use nuk were best.

Ocado has the Nuk Bottles Perfect Start Set on offer for half price until the 24th of July. I may pick up another set myself, so I just thought I would let everyone know in case they wanted to do the same.

Thanks. I seent his the other day but already got enough :dohh: typical.

Was gonna order some for extras but how does delivery go with ocado. Couldn't find any prices.

xx

Ocado is a grocery delivery service so you'd have to spend at least £40, delivery varies as to which slot you choose xx

Hi, hoping someone from this thread is still active.

I am quite keen to use Nuk as oppose to TT for my new LO, but I saw some of the 6month+ teats and couldn't believe how big they were! Did anyone use them or switch brands?

We only ever needed to use size 2 for the whole time.

NUK was my life saver when LO suddenly decided not to take a bottle anymore. She refused avent and tomee tipee. The only brand she would have was NUK, but not the silicone teat, only the latex teat.
