For the past month or so , my chin has been going numb off and on.... Like once every few days, and it doesn't hurt, it just feels literally numb, like it got injected with a numb shot from the dentist !
At first I didn't think much of it, but now its starting to worry me ..... Is this a normal thig I happen in pregnnacy ? I should have never googled it because as of now I have last stages of lymphoma, Bell's palsy, a stroke, or ms ..... Whyyyyyyy did I turn to dr google?!?!
I did read that Bell's palsy is common in 3rd trimester ..... I'm only 20 wks.... And if it were bells would it come and go like this? Should I contact my Ob or my regular dr?
Anyone else have this happen?

For anything like that it's best to see your doctor as we're not medical experts. Although Bell's Palsy normally is a pretty quick onset after you have symptoms and one side of your face normally droops - not just one spot on your face that has symptoms. Probably just stay away from Dr. Google - easier said than done, I know and see your doctor as soon as you can.

Thanks for the input, I agree.... Google is the worst!! I can't even sleep now after reading all that ! Guess i should call my reg dr tomorrow and go from there..... It's wierd because it only happens for a few min every few days .... Oddest thing.... And it's the right side of my chin too.... I have had bad sciatic nerve pain, wondering if any of that could be related. Ugh I'm the worst and try to self diagnose and drive myself insane:/

Haha, how did people survive before the invention of the internet? If it makes you feel any better I convince myself that I'm dying on a daily basis because of what Google says. :haha:

Haha glad I'm not the only one! .... Google is pure evil! I called my OB today, he told me to go to my reg dr, went to my reg dr and he sent me for an MRI of the brain and put me on abtibiotic for now:/ feeling nervous , especially since I had seizures growing up.... It's been 10 yrs since the last but makes me wonder what could be going on:(

I haven't had numbness in my face but I have in my toes.

I have had numbness in my toes as well - because of bad shoes. However, due to a sinus infection earlier this year I had facial numbness. The doc was not concerned and it went away on its own. Chin numbness can also be anxiety related. Try not to worry too much about it :) I did and it was terrible! Google told me all sorts of scary stuff! :(

Thanks so much, I am wondering, I do have a sinus infection which I have ignored for weeks now..... Thinking its possibly that, also I have been so beyond stressed out from worrying to death over placenta previa issues and family stuff.... I never get sleep either.... Hoping its a minor issue related to those things !! An MRI of the brain just seems so scary :(

Sinus could definitely be it. There is a specific nerve that gets irritated from swollen sinuses and that can cause numbness. And try not to worry at all! Sending prayers and good wishes your way :) I am sure you are fine and healthy :)

Thank you so much, I appreciate the input and the kind words :) especially the prayers! Lord knows I need them right now....I'm soooo nervous .... 9:30am is the MRI .... Praying hard tonight! Interesting about the sinus issue though.... So far in on 24 hrs of antibiotic and already feel some relief... I prob have had a sinus infection since summer and have been trying to avoid taking antibiotic while preg :/ well that didn't get me too far!!! Shoulda just too my ass to the dr in July! I'll keep posted, should hear back by next week.....

I just read your post. I'll be praying for you. Google is the worst thing. I try not to google any symptoms I have any more cause it just freaks me out. Praying for you :hugs:

Aw, thank you hobnob.... I appreciate the thoughts and prayers!! Never again will I google symptoms!! At least while pregnant!!! Ugh
