Our son is nearly 2.5years old and we have considered letting him go to a nursery soon one afternoon a week to get him more confident and help him with social skills.

He has Muscular Dystrophy and he is recovering from 3 major hip surgeries. We dont want his condition to hold him back in life and we want to encourage him to be as confident as possible in a group of people.

His disability is only physical.

My questions are;

Have you taken your child to a nursery, how was it for your family and what advice could you give??

Hi we are in a similar position. My son will need a support worker who will be with him one on one. I live in Wales and there is a charity called o gam i gam who pays for the support workers. You should ask your HV if there is something similar in your area as I imagine your son will also need one on one care.

We hired someone to go with her, not just to preschool but all activities....ballet...birthdays.
